Default STi Dedicated to fallen Soldier

hey everyone, i went to the local auto show the other weekend (sure some of you did as well) and there was a subaru there dedicated to a local fallen army soldier from roy, utah. I thought it was pretty cool that they did this, so i snapped a few pics and talked to the person who was showing the car. the story is the soldier had the car for only a little while (4-5 months) and he loved it, called it his only girlfriend he would ever need (seems like all of us). anyway, he was sent over to iraq and only a month after being there he was KIA. while riding in what he called a "striker" (a 36k pound tank which you can sort of see next to the painting of the soldier) they ran over 500 pounds of explosives. a former soldier is the one who painted this and put over 500 hours worth of work into it, it was finished about a year ago, and i thought it was pretty freakin cool.
as someone who is leaving in a month for the air force, i would just like to take a second to thank all of you who serve and protect our country. it can never be said enough, and i have the absolute highest respect for all of you.

RIP SPC Daniel G Dolan

Thanks for posting this. It's an amazing car and I'm grateful that someone took the time to honor SPC Dolan this way. It's strange how much I appreciate this, because of what it means but also because it's a Subaru.

Are you deploying in a month or leaving for basic training?

That's good, have fun with it. Most of the BS that they put you through is to test you mentally. Don't let it get to you, the better you are at letting it roll off your shoulder the easier it is. The Reserve's is good, at least in the Army side. Depending on the MOS you pick, you'll find that it's not at much of a reserve thing as you would have thought.
