Default turbo question.

I purchased a Blouch 440xt Off of the clasifides that is new and had not even been bolted to anything. I checked for shaft play and it moves side to side bit doesn't touch the walls of the housing. Am I just paranoid or is this bad? This is my first turbo car so I am still learning. Thanks for the info.

It seems a little strange to me that it would move any from side to side.

Are those ball bearing? They will move around a little bit and then once there is oil pressure it's solid.

There should be a slight shift. It have yet to ever see a turbo that didn't have some sort of free play (were talking a very very small amount).

Think of it like a womens private area. There should be some side to side play. But if its falling out, you know something is wrong.

I have heard side to side is ok but if it moves up and down then it may have problems, my vf34 ball bearing turbo had a little side to side but like brody said that's normal for ball bearings
