Default BMW M3 Pickup

Quote:
For those that were disappointed by General Motors’ decision to cancel plans for a Pontiac G8 SportTruck, BMW may have the perfect replacement model in the works. While camped out at Germany’s famed Nurburgring, our spy spotted an incredibly odd automotive concoction – an M3 prototype wearing a pickup truck bed.

http://www.leftlanenews.com/bmw-m3-pickup.html

While we don’t have full details on this El Camino-inspired M3, we can confirm it is part of BMW’s Nurburgring test fleet. What place it holds in that lineup, however, remains a mystery.
Although it’s highly unlikely that BMW is actually planning a ute version of its popular M3 model, we can’t really explain the existence of this prototype. Our spies are trying to get to the bottom of this mystery, and we’ll update this space as soon as we learn anything new.
Stay tuned.

OMG.

Okay, it's official. I am no longer a BMW fan... What a damn shame.

HEY BMW. YOU GUYS SUCK.

Wake me up when they build a quick little non-turbo drivers car...

I'm not getting worked up about this because I just don't see BMW making an M3 truck. If however they have an M3 powertrain hooked up to AWD, I would be very interested in that development.

I was thinking it might be a test mule for the rigidity of an M3 convertible? maybe for rigidity testing or something? Is there already one of those? will there be? that roof looks kinda funny...

probably new body style or feature, but instead of hiding it, they just cut it up?!? maybe a two door wagon/hatch? about a 1ft would need to be chopped off the rear end though.

Time for a NASCAR truck entry. Wonder what a German spray-on liner looks like. It certainly could use a set of Ranchos for clearance.

test mule for a hybrid seems a lot more likely.

easy access to the batteries without a trunk or rear seat.
