^^^yup, sounds about right. I have all my usually parts broken up into several BOMs that my parts counter has. One for shortblock, one for longblock and then one for turnkey...I sell those parts at my cost as well. Still way more money than most realize.

In this case, the guys wanted a drysump setup, adjustable exhaust gears, all the AVCS parts, $1k cams, 35R setup, etc...I knew the guy wasn't going to buy it

i have the oil pan.

i thought that stuff was in the list given to SCS?

if u have the part numbers i'll get them ordered. might as well just hold onto my ankles for a bit longer instead of taking a break

is there an after market coil pack i should use. I heard the okada projects werent good before, but i dont remember where i heard/read that.

That is Ron from Axis/Raw1 junk from back in the day.

Let me get a pic of the junk Kenny got from Outfront on his "closed-deck" 2.5L. Bore was all out a shape and 100% not flat. They also F*ed the deck up at the oil return and welded it back in place which was done very poorly...

That too brah. You better let me put the break-in tune on your car. Get too greedy with the avcs and your going to have one hell of a paper weight

I just thought it looked cool and bulletproof for drag power, 2 closed decks on the rebuild list, after the new motors like rons of course

you must have quiet a few blocks on order from people by now

calculating it requires a basic crank slider model (using your actual quench height...may want to account for some oil wedge too), degreed cam profile, valve diameter, seat angle, valve pocket depth along valve guide axis and that's it...straight forward math to locate where the valve will be in relation to the piston. Then you can shift your valve timing to simulate your AVCS cam phasing.

Or

you can 'clay' the head, though I wouldn't use clay but use a depth gauge on the valve and one on piston (much like degreeing a cam) and then you can press check the valve to piston room by pressing on the valve (or twisting the cam. If you don't touch, I'd repeat with clay to see just how close the valve and piston do come to one another.

I was figuring i wouldnt run much based on Ron @ Raw's rule to stay below 14* on his built heads.....but that is pretty chitty and kills spool.

I run 45* on my car....because its mine. or on jdm cars cause they run 45* stock.

Depending on what kenny/Kelly are doing for the holidays I should be able to be down there for 8-10 days in the next 2 weeks. We should make some good progress

no holidays here, always work to be done & getting even more backed up for a little time off isn't worth it, come on down when ready for your "vacation"

my motor is out now, starting to remove the heads and all the other junk before I run it down to jeff & grab your new masterpiece
