No. But I will weigh them both. The aluminum one has a weight of 18 lbs in the pricing sheet, but the weight for the CF one isnt listed. But iirc the weight difference is 13-15 lbs lighter than stock.

12.2 lbs is what I got from reading the carbon fiber drive shaft thread. It is the DSS carbon shaft right?

A stock replacement one is around $700, so meh it's not that expensive. And it has rebuildable u joints, which the factory one does not. Mine has almost 140k miles on it and the center bearing is starting to leak out grease and I don't want to bash the floor pan for the aluminum one. I'm really considering this. My only worry is I've heard people talking about possible fatigue on a street car.

I had a company here make a 2.5in chro-mo one a few years ago. The tube isn't strong enough in that length/diameter. It would vibrate at high speed. So I have a $300 huge paper weight The modification work to make the 3in aluminum one fit is more than I want to mess with at the moment. What company are you talking about?

got this from import image, says stock sti is 31 and the acpt is 13.5, altho the stocker is mounted in the middle making it a 2 piece that swivles, so the whole 27-31lb isnt exactly that heavy

http://www.importimageracing.com/acp...sti-04-12.html

I'd say its worth it for 700-1000 <-maybe if you can, and 350-500 for the 1 piece alum, its a difference you would be able to notice, I like my cf 1 piece

it used to be 1200 I think, now its up to 1500, no thanks

^^was thinking the same thing, we could do it when my car gets together (which will be first), or on rons dd, but whoever does the test needs to replace the gaskets for the mid pipe on the cat-back needed to remove to get the driveshaft off

Wasn't really planning on installing a stock driveshaft in the car first.

I just put up a post in the FAQ that has a before n after dyno sheet of a cf driveshaft

I 've had the DSS CF Driveshaft on for a week now. Install was cake.

Stock 06 STi DS = 27 lbs

DSS CF DS = 12 lbs

Car feels better in all low speed driving. All times coming on/off throttle are smoother. No NVH up to 100mph cruising.

Also try these guys if you want
PRO GLASS (630) 553-3141, they are in IL
Last I heard the lexan complete kit was only like 500 bucks and fits perfect!
i finally emailed these guys....they quoted me $1275 and said i would have to ship them the original glass as they've never done a subaru before.
