question:
I've seen a few revisions in this thread so I have to ask:
What heads are you going to run in this final build?
What cams?

The crystal built motor is currently in my STi....manley rods/pistons, gsc280s, he ported the heads, some shop did the valves.....

I really dont want to swap the motor back out and into the wrx. So my plan now is to rebuild the sleeved block that i just took out of my STi and put that in the WRx.

I put questions in your GB thread.....but i'll just ask them here.....i wanted to get in on your gb for pistons n rods. But if you wanna work something out where i can ship you the block n heads and u build it up, then just let me know. im definately open to slapping big ass mps stickers all over the car if you wanna do something. my rebuild was basically going to be whatever pistons, rods and cams you recommend for a gtx35 or hta86 range turbo.

Do you want a peaky torque curve or a solid flat one that is lower in peak value?
The torque curve on a 2.34 looks like the boost curve, while a 2.5 peaks around 4 and falls hard after. This results in a more na feel to redline on the 2.34. Each has its advantages. The call is yours, but I don't know anyone that hates theirs.

the motor is going in this drag car.....moar topend. so down low peak tq is not a concern. the car has 1/8" thick brakes on it...it wont be street driven.

How much money are you willing to put into a crank?

Dry sump or scavenging ?

Oh, and does your avcs work?
Even with kelford 280's you can run over 15 degrees of advance with my pistons.

lol...how many pairs of kneepads do i need to buy?

are u gonna be opposed to building a motor utilizing a used sleeved case and used head cases?

you can either pm a quote or email me r-j-w@rocketmail.com

pistons n rings
hone
rods
cams
valves
springs
retainers
valve job
port
decking
assembly

** All parts are up to your discretion as to what you thinks best for a gtx35 to hta86 sized turbo. drag car. no street time. e85 or c16/q16 100% of the time **

and if you're interested in sponsoring the first 9 sec mps block, then you can mention something about that too.

the crank really depends...if you can provide me justification to spend $3-5k on a billet crank, then so be it. but my loose goal for this car was to sidestep neciessitating a $20k motor by doing extreme weight reduction. im not opposed to spending money if its justified.

and if any of the parts are just cots stuff i can just order them with my accounts and have them shipped to you.

avcs is up in the air....i have an AEM standalone already....but im not opposed to using something else. ive read lots of horror stories about the avcs problems with the aem. right now the avcs motors and everything is still there....the heads were stock when taken off the car a month ago. the only thing is deciding to use this aem or something else.

I'm sure it's been asked and or stated, but what kind of weight are you shooting for with this?
