So do you still have the factory seatbelts installed or what loophole is there?

I have $35K-$40K in receipts for the ShelbyBronco; less on axles, gearing, stuff...than your Jeep but more on fully built race engine.

What made you want to get rid of the STi? The new 5.0's make some great power though. Looks real nice!

I have been digging to see if ther are any changes and the law is pretty clear in the fact that its pretty unclear.

46.2-1092 States

No passenger car, including convertibles, registered in the Commonwealth and manufactured on or after September 1, 1991, shall be operated on the highways in the Commonwealth unless the forward-facing rear outboard seats thereof are equipped with rear seat lap/shoulder belts of types required to be installed at the time of manufacture by the federal Department of Transportation.

The Superintendent of State Police shall include in the Official Motor Vehicle Inspection Regulations a section which identifies each classification of motor vehicle required to be equipped with any of the devices described in the foregoing provisions of this section.

Such regulations shall also include a listing of the exact devices which are required to be installed in each motor vehicle classification and the model year of each motor vehicle classification on which the standards of the federal Department of Transportation first became applicable.

______________________________

Motor vehicle inspection code 46.2-1092. states....http://lis.virginia.gov/cgi-bin/legp...19VAC30-70-290

Reject if:

1. Not of an approved type;

2. Installation not in compliance as follows:

a. All motor vehicle seat belt anchorages and attachment hardware must meet the standards and specifications set forth by the Society of Automotive Engineers, Inc., and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 209 (49 CFR 571.209), for such anchorages and attachment hardware;

(http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regul...px?reg=571.209 )

No where can I find a list of what the approved and disapproved types are.. other than they must meet SAE requirements. But every reference goes to the condition of the restraints and hardware, and that there must be lap and shoulder restraints. That as far as I can tell is the type...

I have had the head of the Virginia State Police inspection division come to my garage and look over my work, and he himself passed me, handed me his card and told me to give it to any of his officers that pull me over. And to let him know when I do new stuff cause he loves custom cars lol.

He said his main concern is quality... if it looks like crap it prolly is crap and therefore unsafe.

My motor... headers, full msd, intake, wrapped, Mean Green alternator, rv cam...couple nudges... but nothing crazy. The big expense was the drivetrain. Big time sink was the suspension I dreamed the whole thing up in my computer and hand made every piece and mounting point.

Fun part is.. gets 15-17 mpg lol

New ride. '91 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71. Has the off road package, extended cab, decent wheels and sounds good. Still needs some work which my neighbor(who sold it to me and who rebuilds older cars) is still gonna fix and I'm gonna help em. For $1,000, I can't complain. Now I just need to sell the WRX and pay off that damn loan.

The tow vehicle.

F350 Powerstroke Turbo diesel stretched cab and bed w/ cap. Found it at a dealer traded in by Army dude who was out-of-country most of time he owned it so had low miles. The cool part was he added Banks intercooler, intake, complete exhaust, gauges and on-the-fly programmable piggyback ECU whcih the dealer provided the invoices for but did not markup price for the mods.

Its a torque-monster. Have pulled away from tuner cars on the highway while I'm pulling an enclosed trailer w/ car inside.

Leme guess need a kidney belt?

Stiff springs and bad valving make for a craptastic ride.

Yup, it's insane. I even put softer springs in, which helped a lot, but I still don't think it's "normal" for coilovers. But I'm not sure where to draw the line for that's as good as they get.

Does the Track Pack get you the hood vents, or do all the '13s have those? And are they functional vents?

Sorry I never saw this.

Part of the 2013 "facelift" was the different hood with the vents. And yes they are functional, I can see the heat waves coming out of them when at stop lights
