I got rid of the led headlights for a stock set, haven't had any luck with a hood yet. Trading the hks bov for stock today, also removed the turbo timer.

theres nothing wrong with a turbo timer and a HKS BOV..

A Turbo Timer is a good way to warm up your car in the winter if you dont have remote start. set it for 5-10 minutes and take the keys out of the ignition and go back inside.

I have remote start, and a stock turbo, no need for a tt. The car is also still maf setup so vta isn't great, plus the hks is rice imo.

in your instance, you had zero use for the turbo timer. I wouldnt install one either but in the past i used the one of my 06 wrx to warm it up. as for the BOV, i run one, VTA is ohg so fine for MAF Cars. ive been running them on MAF Cars for like 11 years and never had any issues. Always ran them on subarus. I have never had a car blow up from a BOV. people seem to do just fine blowing them up in stock form anyway.

as for sounding rice, yes.... on my HKS, i took the plastic tri point star out of the opening, so its just an opening. It sounds like a Tial VTA BOV Now. No rice whistle anymore.

The plan for the car is autox so vta still isn't what I want. I know it technically isn't harmful. The hks also tend to leak

no way man. Ive only seen 1 leak, and it had 80k miles on it. was installed on the sti they day he bought it new, and 80k miles later started leaking.

All BOV's are basically alike with a spring inside that holds the valve shut. I recently had a friends Turbo XS RFL opening under start up. It caused the car to stall. I put a new turbo xs spring in it and it was good to go.

I think what im saying is, you can pay $400 or $120 for a BOV, after while, the springs inside will loose tension. Ive never owned a car or a bov long enough to have this happen to me personally.

But yea, like you said, you didnt need it by any means. And it isnt helping anything in an AutoX for sure.

Good luck with the fuse problem. Hope you get that fixed.

That's good information, I did find my fuse problem. There is a short in the harness that plugs into the ecu, I've got about 6inches of harness to pull apart, but at least it's a start
