Looks good!

Changed my cabin air filter today. New one was $21.00 from NAPA. I can't believe how dirty and clogged the old one was!

Well after some quick searching I discovered that the 14 inch wheels won't even clear wrx brakes. Darn... would have bought just for the super traction novelty. Lol

Just finished replacing my RacerX FMIC with a Process West TMIC on my LGT. Loaded the base map from Infamous and ran a couple logs. Hit 18-19 PSI (18 is the target) and everything seemed fine besides a slight high pitched whining noise coming from the passenger side near the turbo starting at about 5 psi. Sounded like a small leak. Still hit boost fine.

Cleaned up the garage, loaded up tools and parts into the car and started home. Noticed while idling at a light that the boost gauge was just reading "0", no vaccum. Tried to get into boost a bit and the car would not boost at all... no extra power, no change on the gauge. Instead of the turbo spooling noise (stock catback is on again, so I can hear the engine quite clearly) there is a deep and dull humming noise as RPMs increased. Noise comes from the passengers side near the turbo...

I'm hoping its just a vacuum line that popped off, could that be causing these issues? Any particular ones to check?

Does this sound like it could be a blown turbo? Please advise.

Jeremy I'll be in touch with you tomorrow, might try to get the car over to your this week so you can look it over if you have the time.

A little more background..when driving to my buddys garage before beginning the instal,l the CEL came on with cruise control blinking. Read the code with the AP and it was an evaporative emissions code, and in parenthesis said (loose gas cap). I checked it, it was on tight so I thought nothing of it.

After completing the install and loading the base map, I gave it a little gas to drop the rpms. RPMS dropped almost all the way to 400 and a high pitched whining noise was present on passenger side of engine bay. Sounded like a belt making noise but in retrospect it could have been coming from the turbo.

Hmmm that doesn't sound good. Even if a vacuum line came off you should still hear the turbo spooling. I had a hose come loose off of my wastegate on thanksgiving weekend (somebody forgot the ziptie on that one) and it was severely over boosting since the wastegate was never opening.I was hitting over 30 psi suddenly lol. Also if your boost gauge is reading no vacuum then it must have come disconnected. With no vacuum your engine would not idle most likely.
You should definitely go over the whole install particularly the throttle body coupler, and the boost control hoses for the wastegate, compressor outlet and boost gauge.
It doesn't sound too promising but you gotta go over the basics.
I would be glad to take a peek at it for you though. Hope its not the turbo.

Yeah I have had a vacuum line come off before and my only symptom was a very rough idle and a weird fluttering noise. I should clarify that the boost gauge not only wouldn't read vacuum, it wouldn't read positive pressure at all either, just "0", which is very odd. I heard a dull hollow noise when accelerating and no turbo rush or increase in power.

I plan to look everything over tomorrow to the best of my ability, but I'm not great at troubleshooting these type of things. Also hoping its not the turbo..

I have a set of (4) 14" 5x100 5 spoke Legacy wheels, just need to be blasted/painted. Would look nasty on the RS with some serious rubber

Yeah, I already tried to fit them on my WRX, no dice. Maybe they fit the '02-'05 brakes?

Those do look gnarly. If anyone does pick them up, check state law..... I feel like I heard that studded tires are illegal in VA.... but who knows.

Alex, one thing for sure, if its a bad Turbo the less you drive it the better. If the center cartridge has grenaded then there is metal in the oil.
