So I'm heading down I-64 to the Lowe's at Zion Crossroads today, and a white Honda wagon with a fart can starts messing with me... Easily out-accelerated him in 6th gear, but hit I fuel cut at some speed I won't mention. Downshifted to fifth and it did it again about the same RPM. Really do need to figure out what's going on.
Have you logged it at all? Richy has my tactrix cable meet up with him.

Hello all,

I just got my first Subaru (09 WRX Hatch) and saw you guys are doing local club meets. I'm a Cville local and would love to hit up one of the meets. I'm just learning "modern" car tuning, but have a rough background in antique British sports cars. When do you guys usually meet up? (I'm reading conflicting things catching up on this thread)

Taking the Subie into Brown tomorrow to take care of a plethora of recalls, including finally fixing the fuel line recall for good.

Wish me luck.

Nope, I certainly need to log it, which means I need to get my old computer working, buy software, and get a cable.

Welcome Tristan.

Ummm, good luck.
Cable costs $90 I believe, software is free, and any laptop made in the last 10yrs would run it fine. If needed I can log it for you and tune it.

Golly, Dave. How you make this post at 7:31 AM when I saw you turning into Brown's about 10 minutes earlier?

I might take you up on that offer. I've got two laptops. An old Thinkpad and a new HP, unfortunately, the internal BIOS battery on the old IBM has died, and the BIOS has locked me out.

Awesome, welcome to the silliness. I grew up with a bunch of MG stuff as well. My old man had 4 Midgets at one time..... not all together thru the years, all at once. That was all to keep one good one running. Haha, gotta love old British stuff. Then there were always random old Triumphs, Land Rovers, etc.

Well, I've got to say, it was a pretty smooth experience. The complete fuel system recall was completed in about two hours... pretty competent if you ask me. And hey, my car smells GREAT now! Hahaha...

I will have to look through the work notes to confirm, but I think it may have been Josh, the same guy who put Sam's hybrid together. Whomever it was managed to pull out the intake manifold, TGVs, and TMIC - switch over all the fuel lines, the TGVs, and the throttle body to a new intake manifold, fix the fuel line recall, and re-install everything in roughly two hours.

It's not an easy recall to do, and I was told Brown doesn't do a lot of them, so I suppose it speaks to the competence of some of thier Subaru technicians.

How did you get SOA to do this? I get the smell from time to time, but only on really cold mornings. I thought VA wasn't covered in the recall. My 02 spent it's first 4y in UT (Interestingly NOT covered nor is CO) and then 4 in upstate NY.

In other news all sorts of small stuff is starting to give me troubles on my whip. Clock is out, CC is out, Passenger side window controls rarely work, FL parking bulb needs replacing, etc.... But the adjustable speed and single pull wipers not working anymore has to be the most annoying one. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
