Great shots, even though I can't stand PA for the most part.

Unhappy

The overall crappiness of PA roads is one of the main reasons I bought my Forester. While there are a lot of nice twisties in my neck of the woods, the condition of the pavement is the worst I've seen in the lower 48 - almost third-world. Control arm-bending potholes are the norm. Places with more severe winters have better paved roads with good crowns and decent shoulders (WI and MN come to mind). NJ roads are better but I guess that's the tradeoff for lower taxes.

I do a good bit (~20-25%) of my driving on bad, broken pavement and loose gravel and I appreciate the additional ground clearance and suspension travel the Forester provides. I'd really like to upgrade to 17" wheels and tires with better dry grip on pavement, but given PA road conditions mayeb the Geolandars are the best compromise.

Great pix, Accurit, BTW. That one at the Mann could be used in an ad or brochure.

Once you get away from the big cities, PA has many fun, twisty roads.

The varied road surfaces make car choice and suspension tuning much more difficult. People who live in CA or FL don't understand that we use every inch of Subaru's long suspension travel all the time. 17s? Ha! 40 series tires? Not likely!

Nice photos; I grew up in Pittsburgh and didn't see too many picturesque sights. On the other hand, Rt 160 down to Maryland is still one of my favorite roads, if only for the view as much as the drive itself. Of course, it may have changed a lot in ten years...

Morris Road is one of my favorites. On my bike or car.
That Oreland shot was taken like five minutes from my house. I love the roads around here. -except rush hour.

Accurit - if you're ever NE of the city try Aquetong Road in Solebury Twp. If there's no traffic it's a great drive. In fact it's the first place I caught air in the Soob. Granted I had to go over a RR crossing to do it...

PA 263 also a good road from NJ line to Lahaska. Lots of good roads in Upper Bucks.

Yeah Morris road is pretty cool to go flying down. All twisty and right in the woods. Not like I had my license while I was in PA, but I was a passenger down that road many times.

Accurit - where exactly was that pic taken on Morris? School Rd, going towards Morris is cool too. My friend used to get his Mirage up to about 90mph and go flying off the dips as you got towards the light.

...and my friend thought he was the only 2.5RS owner in the area...
