We don't need a new thread every time there is a new edition. We would have 1,287,492 threads.

2012 ZL1 FTW. The interior of the Mustangs look like they belong in a Crown Vic, nice performance, but the camaro will beat it in 2012 with nicer interiors more power and better suspension. The mustangs are already getting boring. Ford is saturating it with too many editions.

A Mustang Buyer would be better off simply getting a base GT for 20-30K less than a boss or laguna seca and simply spend 5-10K on mods and have a faster better looking car.

Personally I have a stash waiting for the 2012 ZL1 or Z28

I'm no 'Stang lover, but I doubt the Camaro will outdrive this car even with updated suspension and more power. Unless they lose 400 lbs of the curb weight and really get the shocks dialed in...

Also the Camaro looks like it's made out of plastic. It's no better than the Mustang in that department.

Not really sure what you are basing this on. The Camaro SS in coupe and convertible has lost every single comparison to the 2011/2012 Mustang GT. The Mustang handles better and is faster in a straight line. Not only that the Mustang interior is light years better than the awful interior in the Camaro. The Mustang has leather inserts on the doors, soft touch plastics on the dash, and real metal trim to at least put it above economy car interior level. The camaro has the worst steering wheel in the history of automobiles, embarrassingly cheap interior plastics and gauges installed just above the shifter where you can't see it while driving. It's one of the worst interiors in any car in decades. The only redeeming feature of the Camaro interior is the heads up display and you really need it seeing that the Camaro is one of those rare cars where blind spots outnumber sight-lines. I'm not the shortest guy but I felt like a little person peeking out of a bathtub driving that car.

Wow, you really are a poor little troll.

Have you even cared to look at any of the performance specs of the Mustang line up lately?

Don't waste your time dignifying him with a response. He's made it very clear in the past that he does not like the Mustang whatsoever so it's really not worth trying to hold a conversation with him.

Meanwhile the lowly V6 Mustang is faster around a road course than your STi is, so what does that say about your car?

Well, I butchered the English language there . You are right though, I should not even bothered.

The BOSS is a great car, maybe I will pick one up second hand one day in the future.

It's very hard to hide the difference in mass between the Camaro and Mustang.

Yes i have and its old news now. OK , Ford "finally" built a Mustang that has the performance to equal or better the competition. It is not the first car in history to ever do that LOL! If I wanted a 400 Horsepower naturally aspirated 6 speed, rear drive coupe that could hit 0-60 in the mid 4 sec range I would have done it when GM built the LS2 GTO... FIVE YEARS ago. Thanks for catching up Ford. Eh...I'll keep my 06 sti for now...way too much fun for me to even think about getting a different car, especially one with no back seat, and rear wheel drive. Apples and oranges. I already own a late 60's muscle car.

I gave him the link to the original Laguna Seca thread.. the one he should have posted this one in.. in his previous repost thread (the one I linked to). I don't know why Avanti gets bitched at all the time if he makes a second thread about a model, but this troll gets to make a redundant Mustang thread every week.

Have you actually been in a current gen Camaro? The dash is very cheap for a vehicle of that price range (over 30k for V8 models). It's definitely worse than the current gen Mustang and a significant downgrade from the C6.

Absolutely, I dont like the 2010/2011 Camaro dash at all. I dont like any of the modern pony/muscle car interiors. A lot of development went into the exterior design and powerplants of the cars but the interiors were totally an afterthought. The dodges look like truck interiors, the fords look like mid 80's T-bird mixed with crown vic and the Camaro was just a terrible attempt at keeping the retro dash and console gauges wich dont blend well at all with the rest of the interior.

That said; they are redesigning ALL of the 2012 Camaro interiors(and I doubt they can make it worse), and are bringing back the Z28 and ZL1, with purpose tuned suspensions and powerplants in each, specifically to dethrone the Mustang as king of the American Pony cars once again.

Consider that the mustang never stopped production over the past decade. The Camaro hasnt been built since 2002..EIGHT YEARS later they essentially released a concept car. To fault the Camaro for falling behind the Mustang would be idiotic. Ford has been tweeking the Modern Retro Mustang since 2005. The 400+ horsepower Camaro in 2010 did have the 300+ horsepower GT beat in horsepower and straight line performance to its credit. The 2011 Stang was a product of 6 years of evolution of the 2005 platform...and it REALLY was a HUGE leap in performance from 2005 to 2011, for....... the "MUSTANG". It really didnt raise the bar that high above other modern muscle cars in recent production, like again, the 2006 400 Horse LS2 GTO. The 2011 Mustang brings VERY similar straight line performance-and would squeak out the win stock for stock but not by earthshattering margins at all.

The Camaro will beat the GT with just 2 years of development of its 2010 platform... Trickle down from the CTS-V., wich Ford doesnt even have an answer for in the ultra performance luxury class. If I were a 2011 Mustang owner I'd be very worried about the new Camaros on the way. LOL!

He's just another stupid fanboy that's butt hurt because his car can't win. There are Chevy boards full of them. Unfortunately, he found his way here.

visablitly in the new camaro sucks...I doubt they can fix that in the next update.

That said, I love what is going on here....both companies one uping the other making affordable performance availible for a while...(at least until 2016 when the CAFE standards change).

I will be in the market for a RWD sportscar around 2013 or so. Mustang GT of some type is on the list for consideration. I imagine the new Boss will hold its value quite well.

Ahh the "visibility" thing is getting old. People in the market for High Performance/Muscle usually arent concerned about "visibility"...if that were the case Lambo, ferrari, Lotus, etc etc would all be out of business. IMHO the HUGE markups on the Boss and the Leguna Seca make them less attractive. The Boss is selling for 48-50K the Leguna Seca 55K++ Not worth it when you can buy a base GT for 20K less. WAY too many people getting priced out.

Looks are subjective; I think the new Camaros look better than the Mustangs...more muscular. I never liked the Grill of the new Camaro but there is an "XM appearance" option that really cleans up the front facia of the Camaro. I always went crazy for the cowl induction hood as well. For 2012 The front facia is getting redesigned, the rear spoiler will be taller, the interior, and the suspensions and powerplants + the Z28 and ZL1 are going to get a weight reduction to compliment all the other upgrades. The Mustang is about to get some SERIOUS competition.

I agree, the modern "American Muscle Car War" is REALLY raising the bar for all performance car brands! Its awesome. By the time the Ford dealer mark up ,money grabs are done ..in 2012 and 2013, the options out there are going to me much more appealing than they are now.

Except there aren't that many STI variations and this is a Subaru forum... just sayin. I don't hate on Ford as much as teh general but the number of stang variants is a bit ludicrous. Even given that sweet Coyote.
