Post Did anyone see...............WRC coverage?

Stayed up alittle late last night and caught some WRC coverage last night can't remember where but i guess during the race some grass caught on fire so they were trying to get a water truck over to the fire. The stupid a$$ was driving to fast and rolled the truck over onto the Scota's(i just butchered that name)race team and almost killing the team owner?

Yeah, it injured the Skoda big wig pretty badly and took both cars out of the rally...I have it on tape. My girlfriend is all, "whoa, what the hell was that guy thinking"....

Yeah I saw it, that was crazy first the grass catches on fire from a cookout or something, ends up twenty spectator cars get it from the fire, then the fire truck trying to be a rally driver.. always exiting...

That was pretty stupid, also did you see how calm Burns was as he was driving, look like he was driving to 7-11 for a cherry slurpy.

I didn't catch like the first half, but i did see one of the Pugeot(is that even close?)rip his front tire right off the car and they showed the incar and it didn't even jerk the wheel or nothing just sheared it right off, could you imagine how fast you would have to be moving......and i must admit this was the first bit of coverage i've seen with the new subaru body style and i think i like it don't get me wrong i have a 98 so i still like the old better , they where catching some good air in the later stages of the race.

The driver cams this year are really cool. Burns, Tommi and Colin are all so calm, but watch Francois Delecour. He looks like he's gonna have a heart attack at any second, his eyes just bugged out the entire time. Oh, and his only possibly interview response, "Tomorrow will be full attack time!!!"

Question

What!?! A 3-4 ton water truck can't handle like a WRC car? That guy should be beaten!

I don't mind seeing the competition getting knocked out because of problems occuring "during" the stages, but when some idiot knocks a whole team out for trying a stupid manuver. That is totally un necessary!

At least there were 3 Scoobies in the top 10, Burns got some points and Subaru got some manufactureres points!

I vote we kick Nascar out and develop a WRC course in the U.S. What excitement. Bystanders nearly getting run over, brushfires consuming 20 spectators' cars, a modified (WRX?) rally water truck rolls and almost kills people, and farmers on horses checking out the action. I believe there were 250,000 fans in attendance.

I love to watch the WRC events on SpeedVision, even if Subaru isn't doing well. It's much more fun than NASCAR, that's for sure.

I also like watching the motorcycle road races, with the cameras mounted on the bikes. The most exciting bike road race, IMHO, was the Isle of Man, where you see bikes racing through the small towns at well over 100 mph, and down the country roads at well over 170 mph.

that is something I dont understand...why do the spectaters have to stand in the middle of the road to watch! They are crazy..if I were watching a rally, I'd be in a steel cage...damn cars roll over to much eheheh
I have seen vids of ppl getting hit..its pretty sick.
I think the drivers should just plow through them, if they are going to stand in the road KNOWING that SPEEDING car is coming towards them, and its in a low traction area, they deserve to get hit
I felt bad when I saw that moose/cow type thing get knocked right in the head by burns...damn animal didn't know there was a rally that day.
hit the ppl!! save the cows
ehhe

Speed Visions coverage this year is fantastic. Hell, even my Girlfriend watches Rally with me now! The incar and outside car shots are great! The rollovers were plentiful, did you see the mits' just slowly flop over....we laughed pretty hard.
I feel bad for the Skoda guy, I hope he recovers allright.....

I think Tommi looks stoned when he drives. (mabbe he is stoned.. ) Burns just looks relaxed, yeah. About time Subaru finished more then one car. and MacRae has to be tickled to finally have points.

Argentina was wild. mainly the fire and that crazy water truck driver, but the racing.. I don't think the cars had caught as much air for the rest of the season alogether.

Looks like the truck driver was too pumped up. So, did Petter hit someone on the Peugeot in last year's Argentina?

Tomi also had a very close call with a spectator in last night's coverage. He had to swerve while at speed because some maroon decided the racing line would be a good place from which to spectate. Tomi was highly incensed.

I'm sure if you have that portion video taped you'll learn a few new Finnish curse words.

In the words of Timon and Pumbaa, "What a mook!"
