Arrow All this talk of oil squirters got me thinking:

Has anyone hooked up an oil pressure gauge when installing an EJ22t into a 2.5RS while using the stock 2.5RS pump? I don;t have any low oil pressure lights but never even though that maybe the EJ25 pump is different due to the oil squirters in the EJ22T. So, anyone know the answer? Thanks

Eric

i was thinking this as well, i know the REX runs higher oil pressure, almost wondering if we could use their oil pump in the EJ25 to push up the pressure to allow for the oil squiters...eric i need to talk to you ASAP...e-mail me or PM me when you get a sec.

The EJ22T and the EJ25 use the same oil pump.

Now the question is, who has a block with squirters in it opened up that can take a calipers and measure those holes? And where does it look like they're pointing? Straight out, or slightly at an angle?

Just drilling a hole wouldn't work- the squiters are spring loaded/pressure sensitive so that they aren't spraying all the time. They only operate at certain pressures, although i'm not sure exactly at what pressure they start operating. I don't think you'd want oil spraying all the time especially at idle as it would possibly overload the oil control rings and cause excessive oil to enter the combustion chamber(not good).

yeah bret that is kinda what i was thinking...i'd almost have to be like a speed bleeder kinda deal where it only pops off say above 30psi or 40psi even....i am gonna have to start doing some more research and seeing what i can find.
