No better place to go to find out which subi would be good for you than a casual subi meet

Dunno, we'll have to see when we get done eating or whatever. Usually what I noticed in Subaru meets is we spend 12 hours talking, then 10 minutes eating, then Lethargy kicks in and we all go home. :P

Just sayin...

I think this place may be the new big thing for MAIC'ers. The garage is huge, tons of parking, top floor is usually empty so plenty of space for Subaru's. Least of all, there are plenty of restaurants to eat at, movie theater, a bar, I think a billiards hall as well (unconfirmed), and a couple other things.

Geez, I don't see how Silver Spring can NOT be a good place for meets!

OH!! One warning. I got pulled over on Monday by a MoCo Cop because he thought my exhaust was too loud. It is the STOCK exhaust system on my STI. He even called over another officer to do sound tests. Of course I was well below the 95db limit. I still got a warning. So if you guys got a loud exhaust, be careful. Try not to rev too much or too hard or too long.

I should be there at 4:00 on Sunday.

There's a good spot to shoot pool called Galaxy (nice tables) but the food isn't that great.

I'll try to be there on Sunday. Man, a Silver Spring meet...finally! There are so many awesome places to eat in the Silver Spring/Wheaton area...Ruan Thai, Wong Gee Restaurant, and Ren's Ramen should be opening soon.

This is a great idea though! Weird how everyone says they live right next to Blairs but I barely ever see a subi! I literally live next to Blairs!

I'll be there Sunday

I don't think this should be recurring. We will be attracting too much attention and if we are on a schedule and people figure out the schedule, thieves will come to scope.

Also, parking is not free on weekdays until after ~8ish

That's why the meet the OP posted, is on a SUNDAY.

Plus that garage is insane on weekdays, and also when a lot of shifty crowds roam the sidewalks.

Sundays, by far, are the best days to hang around that place since pigs are out in full force. Dunno why only on Sundays. It's weird.

But yeah, totally agree about avoiding this place being a recurring meet area. Maybe we can try other locations in the area, or even Bethesda, since it's a stone throw away from Downtown Silver Spring.

Just tossing ideas out there.

they are all there sunday because they are making overtime

There's 3 parking garages in DTSS, so we have 3 meets already covered, haha. then we can check out other places. Are all the garages free after 8 on weekends?

Actually, you'd be surprised. I had a buddy park his BMW over at the parking garage off St. Elmo Avenue in Bethesda. He had his Blackberry in the front seat. We went to the Red Tomato to grab some lunch. We came back and could hear his car alarm going off. We rushed over and saw glass debris on the ground, along with his passenger side window broken, blackberry gone, trash tossed everywhere (probably from rummaging around), a lot of change missing, and his radar detector gone. This happened a good 5 years ago.

I never let my guard down, where ever I am. But I will say that Bethesda is a bit safer to have more frequent meets than DTSS.

By the way, OP, I extended the invite over to the Legacy guys at Legacygt.com, if you don't mind. I figure the more Subies the better. Especially since the STI sedan has the Legacy underchassis and suspension, but with a shorter wheelbase and some other odds and ends.

Just heads up, that day is called for light snow/rain. Could be an issue for those who already changed into their summer tires.
