It goes back to when Subaru and Mitsubishi were the top stars in WRC. That's where the rivalry cane from.

Our turbos come from a totally different sub-company than Mitsubishi Motors.

Lol

A guy I used to work with would swear that an STi is a 6cyl--bc his "friend had one" lol

Not a Subaru story, but I just remembered it.

This bro a friend was kind of dating was having coffee with us at Streets of Woodfield (lots of Hot Rodders swing through there), which sparks the following conversation:

Him: Some nice cars here! My friend's Mercedes can smoke all of them though.
Me: Very nice. What kind does he have?
Him: C-Class. But he modded it like crazy [yo]! Put twin turbos on there and a supercharger. He also cut the weight down to 400 pounds!
Me (skeptical): Interesting setup... Are you sure he had a twin turbo setup in addition to a supercharger? Are you sure he didn't cut the weight by 400 pounds?
Him: Yeah, he had both! No, the car weighed 400 pounds, I lifted it!
Me (to my friend): So, Jessica, how's Mike (her ex who I already hated a little bit less)?

When I was car shopping, I tested a 2007 Merc E 63 AMG...all I could say was "HOLY SIHT!" The car was unbelievable! The main reason I didn't buy it was because of the cost of maintenance. But that really opened my eyes, also the 6.2L V8 sounds like the world is going to end...I loved every moment of it!

You didn't consider the fact that it waste more gas than an h1 Hummer? I love the 6.2 but why so much gassss?!?!
Well anyway I'm sitting with my friend having lunch and some freshly fried brotato comes in and ask him
Bro: Hey man that's your lancer? (Its a yellow evo 8 by the way)
Him: Yea....
Bro: You done anything to it?
Him: Nothing much, bigger injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, etc...
Bro: Cool man, when you plan on swapping it?
Him: Why would I swap it?
Bro: Cuz bro! Everyone knows that evos are only fast with Subaru engines!
Him: Ok....

I was laughing so hard I tearing up. Come on man, when have you heard of an evo with a Subaru engine?

Very true but to be honest. It's a $110,000 car brand new, so I don't think you are that worried about gas pricing. Even my STI is terrible on gas. Compared to my Civic anyways.

So you have two bright yellow turbo awd cars?

Also lmao the powerplant is the best part of the evo. An STI tranny w/ evo motor and yore control that looks like an 05 sti would be the ultimate mitsubaru hybrid imo

Heard a good one last night from my sister-in-laws boyfriend (referred to as Joe from now on), who claims he knows about Cars. We were looking at some pics of my brother-in-laws (referred to as Mike) 1986 Supra that he has rebuilt from the ground up, also had some pics of my 09 WRX in there when we had cruised around some.

Joe: "Man Mike that Supra is sweet! That supercharger makes it sound awesome." (we think he was talking about the exhaust, and it doesn't have a supercharger, it has a turbo, but we let it slide)
Mike:"Thanks, I have put a lot of work into it."
Then a pic of my car comes up
Joe:"Man, is that the new turbo Scion!?!?"
Me:"You mean the one with Zeus as the God of Awesome?"
Joe:"Yeah, I can't believe you already have one!"
Me:"No man, it's not that car, it is only a Subaru, if I thought I could get anything for it in trade, I would go get that Scion right now!"
Joe:"Yeah, that thing almost puts down 200 horsepower!"
Mike:"I don't know if you could handle that much power."

My brother-in-law an I had a good laugh later!

No kidding. My cousin had an 07 C class AMG. Same V8 I believe. But he totaled it. Mind you he was only 17 at the time. So I guess you all can figure how he wrecked it. But the story that my aunt, his mom, told us was more amusing.

EDIT: he had a C55 AMG
