Me: so do you like the car?
Him: ya it's nice
At this point his finger goes flying past me and points at a blue corolla s.
Him: man that guy has the same car as you, except his has a bodykit!
Me: uhhhh no that's a toyota...
Him: oh

I'm running out of time (he's 13) Help!!!!

But it was driving down the aisle in front of us... perfect side view. I guess they do have similar styling cues but it was a face palm moment for sure... and my first of probably many to come.

^ to a Subaru owner it may seem a lot different, but I still know a few people who identify cars by color... I was doing a something online with a Ferarri four years back or so in class. I asked a girl if she knew what kind of car it was when she said it was nice. Her response was, "Um, I don't know. A red one?"

Neighbor: "Why does your car sound like a Volkswagen?"
Me: *Shrug* with a confused look on my face...

All the Volkswagens I've seen/heard are pretty quiet, with the exception of some modified Golfs.

I figured he was referring to the Boxer rumble so I explained the horizontal Boxer engine design and the unequal length of the exhaust manifold piping.

The original Beetles were H4's and had a very distinct sound because they were air cooled as well.

And you could change a clutch in 1/2 an hour taking your time. But, you'd have to be really hard on a clutch to kill it with a whopping 40hp.

Hey, not exactly a funny phrase/question about my Subie (I don't even own one!) but it is something that I think some of you may get a kick out of... and it happened right here on NASIOC!
