Stopped by an Advanced Auto just to find out what damned code is being thrown to cause my check engine light to come out. This occurred after he looked at the hatch and even noticed that it didn't have a stock exhaust. I do not have my hatch badged so it clearly has WRX on it.

AA: Wow this is a nice car is it an STi

Me: No it's just a WRX.

AA: Man this STi must be fun

Me: Yes my WRX is a lot of fun to drive.

If I remember correctly he even mentioned my "STi" twice more when we went back in the store so I could also pick up some new windshield wipers.

Happens to me so many times. :|

This happens to me a lot too,"You should slam it on deep dish rims and put a BOV on it."

Another one,"You're stage 2 and don't even have an intake!? Are you serious!?"

I had some drunk chick on the sidewalk tell me she wanted to have sex with my car when I pulled out of my driveway on Saturday night. I thought it was funny at least.

I kindly said no. And she was admiring my body lines on my car. I was actually quite surprised she knew it was a subaru. And complimented my Namless exhaust.

Sold my factory rims to a guy via local online classifieds. Came home to pick them up. Since I was going to be alone, and didn't know the guy, I picked up a friend of mine to be with me in case things got risky, since the week before saw some news about a guy getting shot over an iPhone that he had posted for sale in the classifieds.

Anyways, the guy gets home, and asks to see the car just to be sure he's not buying stolen rims. I own a 2008 WRX, and apparently he hadn't seen many around. He takes one look at the car and says:

"That car looks cool. Kinda looks like the Mazdaspeed3, but cooler..."

I grinned...

The friend that was with me owns a Mazdaspeed3...

He didn't grin...

Default Subaru needs to upgrade the "oh shiz handles"...

Driving with my uncle, I was taking a corner, and just as the turbo kicked in, I heard in a high pitch squeel and I see out of the corner of my eye a 34 yr old man clutching the handle attached to the roof. He yells in complete surprise:
"AHHHH!!! THIS THING NEEDS BETTER OH SHIZ HANDLES!!"

That is not funny. He asked you a question. Not everyone knows what every car is. Especially if they're not an enthusiast. Get off your arrogant high horse.

Me- oh thanks!
Her mom- Yeah your car was shaking my house when you came
me- oh sorry
Her mom- oh no it sounds nice. Kinda like a big kitty purring or a burble (Does burbling sound)
Me- I believe what you are referring to is known as the boxer rumble.
