i liked DD till my gf got me hooked on starbucks' crack

and yeah, AP's can be cool. I just think for 99% of people its unnecessary, because most people never change maps or use them to log. They're also obviously good if you're going for a big build and thats what your tuner wants.

And valet mode turns the boost way down and doesn't advance timing, I believe. I cant remember if it returns it to stock boost or way lower, like wastegate pressure.. someone who owns one would probably know better than me

Valet mode doesn't allow the car to go past 3,200rpm so that way the SFB (figure it out) parking your car at the restaurant/hotel/parking garage can't go for a joy ride and boost the **** out of it.

The valet key is just so they can't open your glove box or trunk with the key. It doesn't turn it into some special mode.

A while back, when I only had a valet key thanks to the seller, I accidentally hit the switch on the inside of the trunk that prevents you from opening the trunk from the inside, and the valet key can't unlock the trunk, so I had to take out the back seats and climb in there haha

Can you run around with the ap with the test mode plugs still attached and switch maps?

Or do you have to pick a map, load it, un do the test plugs and then be able to drive around with the ap?

You cant drive with the test connector plugged in. The reflash block can be left in, but not the test connector.

Oh... *derp*. I DID know that.. guess it just slipped. I think they regularly joke about that on Top Gear as well. Nevertheless, I wouldn't mind Datsun being revived --- we had a Datsun hatchback sort of thing when I was in Thailand.

Back on topic here...

"So is that a five cylinder or a v8?"

I had to laugh a little, then I told him it is a turbo four.

"Oh ok, well that **** sounds good anyway."

Random facebook comment from friend: Hey, I thought your car had a white hood? Why is it blue?

Me: That was just a cover for the hood. See? Take a closer look at the photo.

One of the guys: What? Isn't that a radiator though?
Everyone else: BAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Well he's not wrong, he's just not being specific. An intercooler is a type of radiator. If find it funny that there are people who think the TMIC isn't a radiator.

If you want to tell me to read the whole thread, you should read the whole thread. I've made that very distinction at least a couple times already.

Had a kid ask today if my wrx was a race car, before I could answer, he rapid fire asked, have you jumped it, do you know ken block, how fast is it, does it make that loud popping nose when you change gears?

After he finished I said yes, yes, my friend does, it's plenty fast, and no, that is called anti lag. I don't think he even remembered the questions he asked by the time I answered them.

I offered him a ride and his mom gave a very quick no thank you.

There's just something about a kid being excited about cars that gets me. It made my day, and I think it made his also.
