Yes, the same type of "funny story" has appeared many a time in this thread. If some people find it funny, great. It just isn't that wrong to think it's a radiator. Sure, it's a bit technical, and sure, if we get REAL technical you could make the argument that "it's a radiator" is wrong because the intercooler doesn't use liquid. But then again if you get true to the definition, anything that RADIATES heat (or serves as a heat exchanger) is in fact, a radiator. --- Just like a square is a rectangle, but not all rectangles are squares, an intercooler is, in fact, a radiator, but not all radiators are intercoolers. The bottom line of it all is, yeah, the argument that an IC is a radiator is technical, and yeah, that argument isn't a "funny story", but the whole "LOL, someone called my TMIC a radiator" is getting old, and quite frankly, isn't that funny either to people who know. I'm not trying to troll you, just trying to make a point, as Ross did. |

Getting fuel this morning, toolbag hands me my card back and follows with, " so what does it top out at?" Replied "I don't recall, maybe 150mph" blew his mind.

Talk to Alfa Romeo people and you will really laugh. They will claim a GTV is reliable but at their meets all they do is talk about how to fix things that break, which happens almost every time they drive the car. |

I've only had my car for two weeks and already have experienced so many great comments. A bunch were already mentioned in this thread, but these were particularly random:
- "Is this one of those electric cars?" - I guess some people associate hatches with hybrids now, apparently. - "I have never seen one of these before!" - I've heard this three times. I live in San Diego: WRXs/STis aren't THAT uncommon, so this really puzzles me. - "Ohmigod, your car is so cute!" - from girls. Thanks, I guess? Cute is not really what I was going for. - "You should put one of those vinyl Hello Kitty stickers on there" - I got this yesterday, from a dude, nonetheless. I hope he was joking. ![]() |

Oh, moms. At least she liked it. I still haven't told my mom. I know she'll be horrified that I didn't buy a more sensible car. I think she was rooting for Kia or a Hyundai. LOL.

Ok so I got this one about two months ago.
I'm driving my brothers and one of their friends to the movies since I am their driver for the night (I'm watching the movie also). So at a busy intersection making a right, I look in my rear view and see a large Dodge Ram with 3 kids (Age 17-18) in the front, I can see them laughing and I think I recalled them pointing at my car. After the right turn, he passes me going very fast, and I hear a very loud and obnoxious exhaust (And very loud, couldn't hear mine anymore (Invidia N1 street), so he was accelerating pretty hard). He passes three more cars and cuts the last one off in order to make a right turn at another intersection, where he does not stop at the red light to make the turn. I said to myself, I hope I don't have to deal with that or be near that truck again. Well once we get to the movie theater about 8 mins later (It's a large one and the parking lot is almost completely filled), I couldn't find a parking spot in one of the aisles in went through so I had to go on the road area directly in front of the theater. I so happened to see that truck on the opposite side of the lane I was in and I get "Nice car. ******." Could have never guessed that ![]() Sorry if I made you read that entire thing just for that, I'll make the next shorter. This was about a week ago. Me and my friend are approaching an intersection to make a right turn, and there is a newer Honda Civic with 2 guys (Guessing age 20-25) approaching to make a left turn which is about 2 lanes from us. I looked at them cause I noticed both of them were looking at my car and noticed that they were smiling or laughing. As they were going into the lane that goes to make a left (so now 3 lanes from us), he slammed hard against the curb and rode on top until he turned and rode off, and it was a pretty hard drop. Not sure if they were admiring the car or laughing at it, but the end result was a great laugh ![]() |

To girls cute doesn't mean what we would say it means. It could mean they think its great and awesome or that they hate it and want to be nice, lol
