Me: Yea its a 2011. (mind you, its an STI)
B: Nice bro. My buddy has a older one. Has around 500-600 HP. Has a turbo and BOV.
Me: O_O Thats cool. Mines pretty stock its my DD
B: Thats whats up. Well nice car yo.

After they left I decided to turn my A/C on and put my windows up and started laughing about his friends 500-600 STI since it seems they didnt even know what they were talking about! Then left to enjoy my chicken nuggets!

That aside, on to the "bro". I SUPPOSE it's theoretically possible to get HP on an STi that high. You're right though. Even if it could be done (and I think I've heard of it being done), there would be no point to it, and it's not like just some random guy is going to have it.

me: nah I just got the Subaru and I love it's symmetrical AWD and the sound of its boxer motor and the way it drives.

Guy: That's great my volvo has a 5 cylinder boxer motor.

me: what?

guy: yea you know that one less cylinder than the 6 cylinder boxer motor.

after that he kept rambling on about how he changed his AWD to be like Subarus and how his Volvo has 500 hp and how he can beat ferraris. He kept trying to push me into trading or buying his damn volvo

Yea i suppose. lol. It is possible to get an STI with 500+hp. all you need is some $$$$$$$, but considering they were driving a rusted 80s truck that was about to fall off i doubt they would know somebody like that. but hey, you never know.

Haha that's great. I know that air cooled turbo engines exist but I wonder if anyone has ever done that with a Subaru boxer. Doubt it'd manage too much power though...

If you spent the $$$ to custom fab some 2 stroke style aluminum finned heads and block and some custom air direction to force air over the fins, it might be possible. That is until you get stuck in traffic. I think some of the early GLs were air cooled.
