This is why I hate living in Flint, MI, GM capital of the world, this happens all the time. If your going to argue about cars educate yourself first please!
As someone who grew up in Flint, graduated from MTU, AND drives a Saturn for 95% of his driving, I kinda want to hear more of this story.

I drive through the hood in Gary, IN to get to the mill every day. I've heard so much from people. Mostly just confused on what my car is. Best though was a guy at a light that leaned out his window and said nice car. Is that like one of them supercharged mustangs or something? I just had the funniest look and said or something man or something then the light turned green. At least he got to hear the sound of a boxer rumble

My soon to be father in law, who has always bashed on my interest in imports, decided he wanted to take a ride. Did a good launch getting on the freeway (straight shot onto the freeway from a red light) and he threw out more cuss words than the opening scene of pulp fiction! Haha great father and son moment.

Greatest phrase he yelled "im used to big bodied v8s, but this thing is like an ant on crack!!!" haha just shooked his head the whole way home.

Greatest thing is, im only stage 2 with some bolt ons

Thought I would join in. Hardly funny, but made me smirk.

I was driving rather slow, looking for an address and what not, but I did notice a quick moving mini van... yes mini van haha... anyway as soon as they pull up along side of me it was full of some high school kids and they all just flaunt themselves out the windows with the thumbs up and the usual "we like your car"

I had this happen with an older jeep wrangler completely packed (over capacity easily) of highschoolers. Good times.

It's definitely been done. I've built a couple of FFR Cobra replicas in the past. This guy's takes the cake though:
'03 Mustang Cobra motor - 4.6L supercharged, and with twin turbos. More as an engineering challenge and as a marketing tool. Had to dial the boost WAAAY back to keep it down to 644 RWHP, just so it was kindasorta manageable in a 2200-lb. roadster.

In the 80's or 90's in the thread, that OP (Wayne?) said that car made 420rwt at 2500 rpm on low boost too. O_o

Crazy ****!

I did that with my first car 01 Hyundai Santa Fe v6 FWD. Then, next winter got another 2 tires and wow, the difference was incredible. On TireRack.com they have a good video about running 2 vs 4 snow tires on a FWD car that you should show your neighbor.

We got on the topic yesterday about my bike and why I spent so much on a WRX when I would barely drive it in the summer, so I stated well since we have winter pretty much 7-8 months out of the year it makes sense to spend a resonable amount of cash on something that I want, and will be good in the winter.

He responds with, "that's a HORRIBLE winter car"
me - ummmm dude, it's a subaru and I have winter tires for it
him - but if you get 6 inches of snow you're screwed
me - I'll be fine man, AWD and plenty of power to back it up (stage 2)
him - even with it that low?
me - It's stock ride height

friggen silly people and their lack of knowledge with anything. And besides, if the weather is so bad that I can't drive around town in my car..... I shouldn't be out on the roads to begin with!

My mom in the 90s drove a Talon TSI AWD that was much lower than my car driving through snowbanks like a pro not giving a ****. Sad she blew the engine before the promised hand me down.

In the 5 years that I owned my 00 Eclipse GT, I only got it stuck in the winter probably 3 times. It was lowered and I didn't have winter tires soooooo yea, just gotta hit that deep snow with a little extra speed haha.

I'm talking about the 1st and 2nd gen, not the third but I think the ride height stock was also fairly low for 3rd gen. She had a 93.

Because now I have to do this 10 hour long math formula just to figure out who you're trying referencing. Cause some people just smash the ^ button and don't count out how many posts up they are quoting, or if it's just the post above them.

life is hard haha
