He just got his 2013 and is learning how to drive a manual for the first time...so basically, he was out practicing driving his manual and came up to a stop light and the above happened.

Today I was idling down the drive way and a little boy with his dad were walking by. The kid turned around looked at my car, and opened his mouth, and gave me the thumbs up. Small stuff like this makes me so happy I have a boxer..

If I recall it has something to do with the door assemblies... they use wax as a sound deadener or something crazy.. it eventually clogs up the drains too.. been years since I got in on that discussion though.

Yep and it's why the door sill of every VW has wax goop on it. It's a major pain in the ass to keep clean

Gotta love great German engineering! I don't know about you guys but I get more GTIs being **** drivers over ricers. Usually kids in Hondas say I've got a nice car but it's the ******* in the GTI who puts his auto in neutral and revs his farty motor then speeds off like I have to prove myself.

I agree. I see more and more D-bags in GTI's. In fact, I have almost gotten in a crash with a GTI many times, since they cut me off like A-holes.

As for honda kids, They are sons of Bitches, who cant shut up. There is a kid from my school who actually believes Loud is faster, and that his new 3" exhaust gained him 100hp, this kid is straight up serious about it too.

Also, many honda kids near me always rev at me or always want to race me, just because i have a "modded" subaru.

So I picked up a RLG BRZ last Wednesday and pulled out of the dealership with my friend Kyle riding shotgun. LESS than a block away while we were stopped at the light, a lady in her mid-40's was getting coffee from a coffee stand and she rolled down her window and yelled "YOUR **** IS BALLIN'" towards us.

It was awesome.

When I first got my car, I went to my friend's house. His younger brother was playing outside when I pulled in.

Him: nice car, is that a supra?

Me: no buddy, it's a Subaru

Him: oh, cool car

Me: thanks

And he goes back to playing

Sorry, I'm not sure if I was enough of a jerk to post the story

Seems like your trying to say something without saying it inside that seems to be a lie of a story.
But, good luck with that.

Nope, true story. But this is the Internet where most stories are made up so I can see where you're coming from

I do not agree.

In my region, the a$$ are other subies driver. Especially the bugeye.

Never got any problem from gti or evo. I got waived by other evo driver. Civic are sometime revving but never want to race. Very harsh law in my city.

lol the whole german engineering thing comes from the 80s and earlier when the german overengineered their cars anyways. VW was never the company to do that and even BMW and Mercedes havn't been involved in that for years. Like an E28 had a rear axel and differential that could take over 900hp wheel on a car with less than 180hp among other things. Like the m30 engine could easily get over 300k miles without difficulty and you can boost it all to hell easily.

Here in Vegas Subaru people are mostly normal and VW people are huge DBAGS
I've actually had a few GTI drivers try to race me on the highway when i try to get away from their tailgating me with brights, meanwhile people in their EK civics don't even rev at me.

here a lot of subie driver think they drive a godly car. Lot of douche. Especially those with a bov, and got a bit of rust or some bent bumper...

Civic just rev here. They wave, want to ear the engine, give a thumb up and go. Never saw one who try to race.

The only race invitation i got is from those huge f250 or ram with fake hood scoop. Weird...

Different people i guess.

I've owned my WRX for almost four years now and I've never had anything more than one guy ask me if was an STI at a gas station and a guy with a Cavalier decorated in Arizona Iced Tea livery try to race me as a joke...

I think it takes a d-bag to attract d-bag idiots and their comments. That and 95% of you guys are just taking every comment you ever get and exaggerating it so you can post in this thread.

That being said, keep entertaining me for a while at work.

Couldn't agree more with this. I've had my cars for almost 7 years now and really haven't had many incidents. Very few people trying to race, like 1 a year. And most people compliment the cars. I think you only get the nonsense when you talk yourself up all of the time.

lol i would assume Quebec would be different than Vegas. The Midwest was very different and this is still the same country.

ya i've never really had anyone try to race me, these incidents where VW people are being dbags are only like 3 times in an entire year really nobody else has done anything.

My 350z though was a magnet for those people and I drove it like a commuter car. Mostly had it for autocross so it wasn't even straight line fast.

lmao well i guess the civics part makes sense. Both 4cylinder cars with probably no mods, other than their fart cans

Driving on a residential street the other day, I passed a kid on a bike who was going the opposite way. I looked back in my rear view mirror to see this kid with the most dumbfounded/fascinated look on his face. He was probably in high school.

... maybe I just converted someone in that moment.
