That sounds like the normal BS cars sells men say when trying to sell somebody a car.

There's no point in starting the break-in argument again, but I will absolutely guarantee you there's also no magical tune change when you hit 1000 miles.

Some cars might do this (from other manufacturers), but it seems unlikely as it would make them seem less desirable during a test drive.

I turned down a wrong road which turned out to be a cul de sac with a mechanic shop at the end.. I pulled a u-turn, and the mechanic ran out of his shop panicked, yelling "TURN THE CAR OFF!!! TURN IT OFF!!!"

I killed the engine and he ran up to my car and said, "Hey! Your car is misfiring BAD!."

I was talking to my gf and her mom was in the room. I was mentioning I had a check engine light for an evap code and it could possibly be a bad gas cap. Then her mom said, "you don't want oxygen mixing with your engine because it will ruin your engine"...I just kept quiet.

Duh. That's why cars come with air filters - to filter out all that air.

Actually mom's smarter than all of you. Too much oxygen in your engine with not enough fuel = BOOM!

Put mom on here for me please, I've got a question about the proper gap for the spark plugs in an '88 Civic.

So... optimal AFR is 0?

Mom isn't exactly right this time, but I am sure she is a wonderful lady.

-_- right back at ya.

He was defending "Mom" for saying oxygen and engines shouldn't mix. No oxygen in the engine = no go. Oxygen is necessary to support proper combustion. Obviously, he said "too much oxygen," but given that he was defending a statement that seemingly makes the case that any oxygen in the engine was bad, I figured I would give him a hard time.

I am gonna use a custom duct tape mod to completely seal the intake. What could go wrong?

I see something possible wrong with that... What colour duct tape are you using? Dont want to colour clash with anything. Especially after labour day.

You spelled "labour" with a u, so I assume you are correct.
