This page is not ALL about funny incidents. At best, 1 out of 10 of the stories are funny (for the purposes of this thread, “funny” is anything that makes me chuckle…lightly). The rest are as Punkuhr described them: people recounting events in which they have one fleeting moment of intellectual superiority and a chance to educate others which are promptly squandered in a blaze of douchbaggery.

Incidentally, your story stands out because you and the other person seemed to have some idea of what the other person’s car could handle. It was made somewhat funny by the fact that the other guy backed out when he allowed you to change the conditions in your favor.

Just happened...I've had my Subaru for a week now and have already been to a car meet.

GF: I'm gonna take a shower
Me: Whatever
GF: What is that site that your always on?
Me: *Intentionally say entire name* North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club or NASIOC for short
GF: *sarcastically* Oh, now you're in a club? Whuuuut?! *walks to bathroom*

Subaru is awesome.

. Because its an asian vehicle. Pretty obvious. We dont need to be overly p.c. and apologetic. He obviously had no hate intended with that story. Switch the nationality and car maker and its still amusing.

Ok, let's do that.

Oops, the guy was Italian, not French. You know those Europeans; we all look alike.

Also, "Asian" is not a nationality, as much as Bob Dylan might want us to think it is.

. I understand its not a nationality and very good point, however theres no need to dissect and be overly sensitive. I was thinking more along the lines of a guy named Helmut asking me what kinda of car my BMW M3 was LoL. I grew up in Manhattan with Korean, Chinese, Japanese and all other backgrounds of friends so I guess im not sheltered enough to find this offensive, sensational or just way ahead of the curve to be educated by the P.C. Police. The beauty was we joked, pointed things out and there wasnt this phony outrage Back on topic. Most people have no clue about my Subie, they often confuse it with Saab , ive had one person correct me when I told them its a Japanese vehicle, tried to convince me its a Swedish make ( am i allowed to say swedish? I know they make more than just vehicles )

All I read there was, "I have a black friend, therefore, I get it."

You're just jealous because the asian guy was born a master of mathematics, karate, and Starcraft. Unless you're also asian, in that case I don't know what you're going on about.

Not really a phrase, but I had this guy try and "race" me on the highway in an older V6 mustang a while ago. I had it on cruise control and held down the accelerate button and ended up walking him. When I stopped to get gas a few miles up the highway he pulled up next to me and said that It was a good race and that he knew he would have lost to my cars V8 but thought he would give it a shot.

Wasn't sure how to react. But it made me laugh.

Sadly, I'm pretty sure you're exactly right. It used to be a respectable Aussie car, then when he found out it's made in Japan, it fell into the Honda/Scion category, pointing towards his distaste of anything Asian...
