That's what I was referring to. Hence my last comment. I didn't see anyone clarify which one so I assumed the latest model.

Gotcha. I wish they never changed them, the new ones really are ugly. The grill looks like a bottle opener...or a beak.

Exactly, that and even the rear looks awful. The style before that was super sleek.

The dunlops are a DEATH TRAP in the slightest smattering of snow flurries. Studded snows FTW.

studded? Where do you drive? studs are overrated..and beyond annoying... if its ice, only thing that MIGHT help you is chains.

I live in Maine and travel to the mountains almost weekly to snowboard. Ice is not a rarity, and they've saved me more than once in my decade or so of winter driving. Sometimes all you need is just that tiny bit more of traction to keep it out of the ditch, etc.

And the most overlooked place you might find ice? All over your driveway & unsalted side-street. Both with a slight incline, in my case.

The other week actually, my roommate's loopy girlfriend almost slid her car into mine while trying to back out of our driveway. I Wish I still had the picture.

Her car is FWD with studded tires, and I think while she was backing up, she tapped the brakes but only one wheel was on pavement, the rest on ice. The car started to rotate toward my car, she panicked, hit the gas (in 1st), and the studs chewed up the ice and finally stopped the sideways movement / rotation. I gotta believe if she didn't have studs, I'd have a new paint job.

At bk today talking to a fellow subbie owner who just got back from a deployment. He's got a lot done to his car and he had the hood opened to show me and this ssg walks by and starts talking to us
Ssg that thing is pretty sweet it looks fast
Friend yea it's pretty quick
Ssg ( looks at the engine confused) whys the engine look funny?
Me it's a boxer engine ( show him how the pistons go)
Ssg oh that's got a Porsche motor in it?
Me and friend just roll our eyes and proceed to explain everything to him

And right as this is going on some random person came walking by and looks as us and says " that's a sweet looking Camry I like the wing on the back"
Some people just don't pay attention to things

I was at the e85 station fueling up my 02 WRX. A Chicano gangster in a 90's Pontiac Grand Am pulled in to the next pump. He gets out and starts filling up his car.

Gangster: That civics bad eh!
Me: Thanks.
Looks at yellow fuel nozzle and looks confused.

Gangster: what kind of gas is that.
Me: diesel fuel.
More confused looks.

Here in North Dakota, I see more FWD/AWD vehicles in the ditch...Yeah, you got four-wheel drive, but you don't stop any faster than any other car.

Doesn't help when your 4x4 is a top-heavy bromobile with a big lift and MT tires that look tough but on ice are worse than all-season tires.

My friend and I drive subarus and my other friend made fun of our cars:
"Your cars are so gay. They're HATCHBACKS." He drives like a 99 Buick.
"Dude they're great in the winter and gas mileage is decent."
"Bro I get 500 miles per gallon don't even play that f*ck*** card."

Everyone burst out laughing and he keeps calling us retarded completely not understanding that 500 mpg is totally different from 500 miles per tank...

Not hilarious, really. You kinda had to be there...#internet. Now we joke "Hey TJ, have you filled up yet?"

What's that hole in your hood for? Cooking pizza?

It's not automatic? That's so stupid.

I was at the mall yesterday with my girlfriend and as I'm backing out of my parking spot, when my grille clears the cars this little boy of maybe 5 years old cries out to his mother, "Look mom it's a Subaru!"

My girlfriend and I both thought it was adorable.

My 4yo son constantly points out Subarus and "Eechibeetchis" (Mitsubishi).

I brought home a 2015 WRX poster from the auto show the other day and he wigged out; "It's a RED Subaru!"

It was supposed to go in the garage... may end up in his room instead lol.
