Yes it was just you being a douche and you rooted yourself out in the process. Nice work.

And how is any random person giving you a compliment on your car going to know which exhaust is applicable to your specific MY? Probably the dumbest thing in this thread. Try being human next time and just thanking him and be on your way. You're not better than anyone because of the car you drive...

I think we feel for you on this one. But, if you'd like to look at it another way, you probably got that compliment because the person who made it had never seen a Camry that looked that good. Obviously, all because, it's just not a Camry.

This.

Many of the things people say may be humorous to us but it seems that in most cases they're being complimentary or in other ways admiring our cars, so we should just be grateuos and say thank you.

As if you'd know off the top of your head which aftermarket exhaust would fit for which generation BMW, or mustang, or rx7...

He admired your car and asked about your exhaust? And your response is to be a dick? I bet you and your friends are a real great bunch of guys. How low class can you be.?

My parents asked me to pick up my little brother from his baseball practice. As I pull up one kid runs over to my car. (Wrb bugeye w/Sti wing and wheels). I hear the usual do a burnout coming from the group of kids.
Kid at my door: this thing got a v8?v6?
Me:no, just a 4 cylinder
Kid:?!?
Me:with a turbo
Kidhh do a burnout
Me: I can't it's AWD
Kidhh (and runs back to the group)

As I got to pull away another kid says so a burn out. And I hear the kid I was talking to go, "it'd all wheel drive you idiot"
Me and my brother got a kick out of it

^ Group of kids at a stop sign. Me in my '88 911 Carrera.

Kids : Do a burnout! (hand gestures)

Me : Porsche 911's are rear engine / RWD. It's about putting the power down not wheel spin.

Kids : ... Do a burnout!

I love little kids like this. When you roll by in yours or a friends Subaru/attractive car all little kids jaw drops and just stare at such amazement. It's awesome

not really that funny, just surprising to see an attractive girl know something about Subaru's...

These two girls come up to me:

Girl: Is that your blue Subaru? W..R.. ?
Me: WRX, yeah it is. That's my baby.
Girl: I have an Impala, I'm sure it could take yours. It's an SS
Me: (trying to figure out if sarcastic or not lol): haha I don't know about that
Her friend: My friend has that kind of car too. They go in stages; stage 1, stage 2, etc. His car would definitely take yours.
Me: yeah, mine is stage 2.
etc,

I guess now re-reading its kind of stupid, but it just caught me off guard.

I've had a technician and an aspiring technician ask if my new hella horns were turbos and speakers. I'd expect this from non technical people but mechanics/technicians?

I guess it's cause I'm not cool enough to have a turbo? Maybe that changes people. But I'm with ya; I get a compliment and just say thanks, try to say something nice back and be on my way.

Little kids are the biggest fans. Kids wave to me when they cruise in the front yard in their big wheels. My neighbor's kid brings his over when I'm working on mine and he'll lay under it "fixing it" while asking me questions. Went to cars and coffee the other week and there are exotics everywhere and three or four Subarus. Six year old is walking around pointing out all of them. Didn't care about the Ferraris, Corvettes, Porsches, Teslas, Audis and Bimmers. Just pointing: "Subaru, Subaru, that one has a turbo." It was great.

What point? That you're a 19 year old kid who confuses being a wise-guy with being wise?

We all know people like this, they're usually of little substance. They think that being a smart a@@ is a way of showing how clever they are when in fact they often losers who have little to contribute to this world.
