Some Honda kid stops me as I'm getting out of the car.

Him: Hey nice car, I bet my friends Evo could beat it though!
Me: Thanks, and really why is that??
Him: Well it's fast as hell! He's running 2200 pounds of boost!
Me: Really?? You sure about that? I think his motor would be toast...
Him:Of course I'm sure! 2200 pounds of boost, I can almost beat him though..
Me: Awesome... .. ( Facepalm as I walk away)

Maybe he was thinking the car was 2200lbs?...even that isn't likely because that would be a rocket ship if it was

I don't mean to make a stereotypical joke but you walked into it.

It would be 22 X 100 = 2200 and this is coming from the Amazing Asian.

I do not know of any material on earth that could be crafted to the size of an engine with 2500cc of displacement and hold 2200 psi.... at least without leaking under the extreme heat conditions of the engine.... or without blowing up when the engine combusts fuel...

Your engine sees that much pressure every combustion cycle; with some serious re-engineering of the intake cycle, I bet you could get there- trick would be keeping that 2200 spike to a very short duration.

Test drove a 2000ish outback a few years ago, it rode a little rough. Told the salesman that the air in the tires needed to be rotated, and he replied "I will have a service man take a look at that". He didn't have a clue.

Back on topic I always get asked to" light em up bro!"
Also seems every guy with a v8 wants to race me. What's up wit that

Yea, but I am under the impression that "boost" is pretty much consistent pressure - not short-spikes like normal combustion. 2200psi "ambient pressure" PLUS a combustion spike doesn't sound like something that an engine can handle.

he was just messing with the salesman - testing whether or not he actually knew anything about cars. salesman = fail.

Exactly^^

He may seem like a tool because he didn't call you out. But if he did you would probably think he was a dick. Sales people are ****ed no matter what...most deserve it though...they know what they did

I went home last weekend to go visit the family and do a few other things around Green Bay.

I had to run some errands and told my mom to drive the WRX and give it a good rip getting onto the highway.

Her comment: "Yep, I could definitely get a few tickets if I owned this."

Yay!

My wife used to drive my '04 Stage 2 WRX when I would need her truck. She liked the feeling once the 20psi of boost came in. She called me from work the first time she got into it with some ricer and told me she "found the turbo" and then began giggling hysterically.

Unless you're suspension is modified then he should absolutely beat you around a track.

Yeah, I'd imagine the 11' SI could out-handle a 97' Impreza L no problem.
