As soon as I saw said douche get in my car I went outside to make sure he didnt go on a test ride a la Ferris Beuller.

When confronted he explained that the figure eights were to "check fo wobblez"...

Glad I got out there when I did, or I would have gone berzerk.

I worked at a a walmart tire and lube, what he did is common, maybe not drive like crazy but the figure eights for sure. They do that and then should dbl check the torque on the lugnuts.

This is why new cars have "valet mode"

Yup. I also will never take my car to a walmart for work. Ours was the number one walmart tire and lube at the time for the west coast but after that and seeing who works at those nowadays, no thank you. If I ever have to take my car to a shop for work I make sure I put the valet tune on.

Can you just do a real time, or, do you need to do a whole flash? I'm still an AP newb, sorry for the question.

You can pay for my gas to go to the tuner 1000+ miles away. Till then, I'll keep using my AP.

I have protuned maps with my AP. AP wouldn't really be my first choice but it was done before I bought the car. Agile Automotive built the motor.

Same and they never do. Heck we have a 85 trans am we are gonna rebuild for her and the nieghbors don't complain when I do donuts with that thing in the cul de'sac. So I don't think they are really gonna complain about a lil boxer rumble.

Though she has told me repeatedly once that cars done I'm banned from touching it. I generally just tell that's ok I'll romp it with my ricer anyway. It's just fun to get the rise out of her lol.

ya know that make me think ... perhaps she just assumes I must be going fast because it's me driving. I gotta admit I don't think I could fault that logic. I try to be good but can I help that I get excited? It's just so nice and shiny! lol

right when i started reading this....i just thought of fast and furious....the whole Vin thing

oh and lately, i always get cars reving the motors like crazy when im at a street light....they are waiting to go the opposite way, but they still rev it like crazy thinking ill just take off...??

crazy winter storm a few months ago, i was heading out to go snowboarding...my buddy stopped at a gas station....random guy rolls up to my passenger side...

"knocks on passenger window"
i roll down the window....as he leans in

him -"sweet car man"
me -"hey thanks man"
him -"is this thing really fast?"
me -"it moves pretty well, not too bad"
him -"yeah man, it looks fast....i want to get one soon, what year is this one?"
me -"its a 2004....first year sti here in the US"
him -"oh man, thats sweet, is it fwd or rwd?"
me -"its awd"
him -"is it good in the snow?"
me -"any car is pretty good in the snow if you have snow tires....i have snow tires, so it does fairly well"

friend comes back to car....confused....guy walks away "later man"

friend -"what'd that crackhead want?"
i just started Laughing, "just asking questions man..."
friend -"he knew nothing about your car"
me -"yeah pretty much"

Me:"it excellerates well"
Cop: "whats the fastest you've ever been in it"
Me: 70
Cop: I ment unofficially

My wife takes my car a lot because I don't drive it to work (I don't work in the best area). So I get home from work the other day and was very excited to tell me about her day.

Her and her sister where stopped at a red light when a guy in a ricer scion xb pulled up next to them and started revving his engine. There windows were rolled down so there was a conversation.

Guy: Nice car.
Wife: Thank you.
Guy: You even know how to drive it.
Wife: Better than you.

The guy aparently got mad because he speed off. I love my wife.

I drive a kia spectra as a daily, and I completely de-badged it. I get asked almost daily how fast my "subaru" is. My reply? Not very, it's being swapped at the moment. Lol
