Default Light CF Hood, not taking order just testing the water !

This is not for sale. But want to know how many people will be interested if there is a CF hood for WRX. Three layer of Carbon Fiber and Kevlar. HoneyCore sandwich panel which make the hood very rigid. Should weight no more than 8lbs.
If anyone is interested if this become available, pls let me know, any additional information pls e-mail me @ henryk13@novus-tele.net

i would be interested if the price is right.

there are several other manufacturers that produce a cf hood already for reasonable price in the US...

Do you have a white Supra? Or one of your partner's?

I'm definitely interested.

Man I'm tired these days....make one for the GC8 and I'm in.

Sounds solid. Too bad it won't fit a GC8

Bavaria sold about a dozen of CF WRX hoods for $700 CDN, those were made in Taiwan...

So around there or less I might be interested too...

I'd jump on it if it doesn't have a hood scoop (for 2002 2.5RS)

I'm getting a sample in about a weeks time, but its for a ITR, DC2. But you can see the quality and feel the weight, now the apx. price should be around $800 CDN, thats the retail price.

In order to get a group buy, I need roughly 7~ 10 orders then can lower the price.

Could you post pic once you receive the sample? I've got both a 99TS (GC8) and 97 ITR. Oh, please give more detail about the hood. You mention 3 layers of CF and Kevlar. Do you mean 3 layers of each, or what?

It's 3 layers all together. The DC2 is for sure, cuz is being made now. But the GC8 is not for sure, if there is enough other than yes. The guy is making these CF hoods are the same guy who make for Speedvision World Challenge's Protege, the front lip and all the CF stuff is made by him. I'm also getting the Mugen Wing, so you can check it out once it gets here. The difference btw the mugen n the one I getting is that the mugen's is fiberglass + aluminum so it weight more, but the other one is all CF, so is lighter.

If there is enough people (10 or more ) are interested the GC8 hood, then I'll place the order.

If there is a demand, yes. The guy can make anything out of CF, but have to have enough other to bring down the price.
Example : a DC2 factory hood is 40 lbs w/ CF is only 6.5lb

one cf hood cost almos $2000 CDN

But with 10 order, is less than $900 CDN

So if you guys can ask our friends or buddy to place an order, the more the cheaper will be.

How about strength and fitting? It will be great if u can show me a pic/ in real how it fits on a DC2. Also do I have to use hood pin? TKS!

All the CF hoods will be made by the same guy who supply for Mazda Speed.

For the GC8, you guys want full CF, include the scoop? just just the hood itself?

The sample I'm getting will come in w/ the latch, with the OEM one's. A hood pin is not necessary, plus hood pin will attract cops attention.

If you wanta see the sample, I will post up a place n date once its here. or you could e-mail me and I will let u know when is here.

It'll probably be cheaper, easier and more efficient to simply have the GC8 hoods one piece, with the scoop and vents all one piece with the hood instead of 3 separate pieces like they are now.

It really depends on the demand, and the cost, if one piece is 200 bucks more, I don't think you are willing to pay for that.
