and on a 17x9 et35 you would need to roll the rear but not pull.

Thank you Dan. Those look just about perfect to me. I started getting all excited as soon as I saw the photo. Guess I should have at least trolled back the last 5 pages.

dan, i spoke to you on the 48hrs of tristate everyone had already left about tire sizes.

i ended up going with sumitomo HTR Z III 275/35/18 tires. they are going on 18x9.5 +38 work emotion XT7 wheels. my rear fenders are rolled flat and slightly pulled, the front is VERY slightly pulled but not rolled.

i'm also on Coilovers. will i need to do more modifications to fit these wheels? is there a point at which i shouldn't go lower than i already am? this is how the car sat with 245's on the same wheels:

any input would be great. i also picked up the mcguards lugs from you guys, apparently they are the best and won't scratch the wheel!

Looks like this thread has helped out a few more folks.

I've landed on a a pretty solid setup I think...18x9.5 +40 with 265/35/18 tires. I may even go +42, since these will be made to order anyway.

I gave up on the 18x10 +45 idea

That fitment is going to be VERY tight. I don't think you'll be able to go any lower due to tire/fender interference.

Should be an easy fit.

The first part of your question is already answered in this thread. The second part is not 2011+ WRX related, so I'd look elsewhere for the brake clearance question. Start with the Miro wheel manufacturer or retailer.

I have 9.5 +38 offest rims. I'm looking to go with a meaty tire (i hate how the 245's i traded with look) i was thinking 275/35. I plan on lowering ~1in and fenders are already rolled. is that the largest I could fit or with +38 or would that cause rubbing issue because of the offset?

That's the largest you could fit and live with it. 265 would be a better choice in terms of clearance. This car has that same wheel size and offset (18x9.5 +38), and is wearing Star Spec 265/35R18's. We rolled as much as we could. It clears the fenders, although the front tires rub on the fender liners. It's pretty low...

Well after reading almost every page I almost know what I want. I dont plan on going super low but a small drop on my BC coils. 18x9.5 +40 seems to be the best option. Although I cant tell from reading if the 255/35 or 40 or 265/35 or 40 is a better fit/choice. Dan, send me a price quote for that size wheel also! Shipping to 98433

If you want a good match for that wide of a wheel, 265/35R18.

First you have to decide what wheel. If it's one that's on our site, you can add it to your cart and enter that zip code in there and the site will quote you the whole thing.

i read through the pages and didn't see anything about back spacing, nor can i find much info on it anywhere...is this something fixed for a given wheel size or based on offset?

in order to go wider...9" i am having to go larger to 18's...will 18x9 45offset w/ 255/35's be a good daily setup?

thanks and i apologize for asking the same question again, i know it will fit but the idea is to make my car handle better not worse...

Wheel diameter does not change much about the clearance, since you would normally run the same outer tire diameter no matter what wheel size you have.

This exact fitment was adressed around post 296.

Back spacing = offset.

looks like i asked a little early.....as both TSW and Enkei are gay and do not make 17x9 or 18x9 wheels in 5x100.

looks like i'm back to the drawing board.

Anyone know of semi light weight(under 20lbs) 18x9 wheels in 5x100?

Have you looked at Forgestar? They make 18x9, you can specify bolt pattern, offset and color and they're light. I just put 18x9.5's with 265/35/18 toyos on my '11 and they weighed in at 45.6 lbs assembled while my stock 17x8's with 4000 miles weighed 45.4lbs with the stock 235/45/17 tires. Not too bad for plus sizing the wheels and adding 30mm in tread width.

Let's see some pics of that setup. Also did you buy through forgestar directly and which model?

I bought the F14. CF5's are sweet also. Pics are just a few posts up above this one. Click on the link under the pics and it'll bring you to more pics. I bought them from Peter at Automotive Connoisseur Group, Inc. They have the same price as Forgestar, but with free shipping and are great to deal with. You'll have to wait a while for them because they are all made to order.

As I've mentioned several times in this thread, we make the Mach V Awesome in 17x9 +42. It's under 18 pounds.
