Why even bother to put 10.5 wheels on when you can't fit the proper tire... Unless your intent is to ruin your cars acceleration, breaking, turn-in, steering feel and overall performance. Get smaller wheels bro, 9.5" is really as wide as you wanna go unless you don't mind doing heavy suspension and fender modifying to make it fit. But like I said, you'll just ruin everything else then. |

Hi all, I am very interested in the mach v awesome wheels. My 2011 wrx is currently all stock except spt cat back. I have read alot on this thread and searched but I have yet seen someone running the mach v on stock 2011 wrx suspension. Will I be able to fit 255/40/17 starspec or hankook RS3 without rolling my fenders?
Also... with the ±42 offset being 17x9, will there be any poke (not a fan of) or will the wheels be within the fender and flush? I couldn't find pictures of the same setup from top view to see how the wheels sit. I really hope these arent questions that had been asked alot already since I have scroll through alot of this thread and searching. Please be gentle to this monkey, thank you all! |

Guessing it would be better to go 45 instead of 40 with a 17" wheel on stock suspension.

I have a 2012 WRX hatch and I am trying to decide what my best size options are for the tire I have selected based on my suspension setup and wheels. Keep in mind, I would like to keep the alignment specs as close to stock as possible within reason. If someone can suggest a specific alignment that would be better with this setup I would appreciate that.
Bilstein GTWorx struts Racecomp Yellow lowering springs Rota MXR 18x9.5 +38 wheels The tires I intend on purchasing are Continental ExtremeContact DWS. 235/40/18 245/40/18 255/35/18 Those are my considerations, 235/45 and 255/35 being the closest to stock. I would prefer to not have to roll my fenders which is really the only thing keeping me from just ordering the 255/35. At the same time, I'm not trying to look like a jackass with a 235/45 tire on a 9.5" wheel. If anyone can comment on the size of this tire compared to others, that would be helpful. Thanks for opinions and advice in advance. Last edited by chaoticSTi; 05-30-2012 at 07:10 PM. |

Sorry to be harsh. In case you weren't sure, my recommendation is 265/35R18 with rolled rear fenders (you probably don't even have to roll them much). |

I don't want to stretch which is why I am asking because if I can get away with 255/35 I will do so. If I end up having to do a slight roll then I will. I am ultimately looking for some first hand experience with how wide these tires run. I have no need to run a 265/35 simply overkill for daily driving even a 255/35 is more than I truly need but it's a pretty close match to OEM specs. |

18x9.5 is over kill for daily driving....why not sack up and get a slightly larger tire?

![]() ![]() It looks to be rolled and slightly pulled and is running -7 (yes -7) rear camber and is still rubbing. 245/40/18 on an 18x10.5 +23 (If you could find a place to mount them) would stick out about 2mm more at the tire and 1/2" at the wheel. |

FYI I had 255/35/18 on my 18x9.5 +38 rpf1s and they rubbed on stock suspension. A lot when people were in the back. It's going to be hard to avoid rolling the rears.

Changed my mind about 18x10
. Got a new set up question lol. I want to run BC coils with a 17x9.5 wheel. I know I want 255's, but does anyone have a picture that would show me the amount of poke, also what offset you are running? I've searched around and have only found 17x9 wheels. So pic request summed up: Suspension: BR BC coils, preferably with no wheels gap at all Wheel: 17x9.5 with any offset Tire: 255 Thanks! |
