I have heard of people going 165mph or so in their WRX's. These are modded WRX's of course.
I'm sure someone like Phil at Turboxs with his 117mph trap speed in the 1/4 mile could redline his WRX in 5th gear at about 170mph. Not a smart thing to do but it could be done.

A bone stock WRX is capable of 140+mph depending on wind speed/direction etc. I personally took mine up to about 142mph when it was stock.

142 mph, damn your nuts. i dont even have the balls for that or the room to get to that speed. i have been told that the 02 impreza body could not travel over 170mph unless radical things were done to keep that body on the ground.

I've hit 135 stock. That's a little too fast for our country mountain roads so I backed off. It felt fine at that speed (on 225/40/28s). The howling around ~120mph seems to go away ~130mph....either that or the next turn was coming up so fast I no longer cared about the howling

I've only had my '95 Legacy upto 110.. wimpy compared to what you guys had your i's up to, once it hits 90 it slows down a lot and takes forever to get to 110 from there... i never had enough room to try and get it faster.... i think i'd need to be in New Mexico on a 10 mile straight away, the car is at about 3500 or 4000 at that fast... I think. Oh it's completely stock with 133,000 miles.
