Just found out something about some of these five 0 injectors.

Me and Clark turner have been trying for a week to tune my car with the 1000's a vf-30 blitz nur spec and sti intercooler plus a 255 lph walbro.

The main issue is in one of my other tuning threads.

What I found however is that there top feed 1000's do not fit in the manifold hole coerecly. They are not round like the stock injectors. They have 2 parts on the injectors raised up on each side where the stock ones would be a smooth circle. This causes that raised part to hit the injector hole lip on the intake mani. Therefore it will never seal in the intake with the donut gasket. And then all the air that wants can get around the seal causing it to go very lean.

My solution was to Dremel the injector to the same size as the stock ones. This fixed the leak issue and they seal just fine. Weird thing is the car will only idle with a map Clark gave me to try where the injectors are set as 850s. When I throw on the base map with them set how they should be it goes to friggin 18-20 afr and %25 correction.

Well, add me to the list of people with a wonky injector from Five-O.

I installed their 1200cc side-feeds, started tuning the car, and could never get a nice smooth idle. Logging the roughness monitors, cylinder #4's misfire count was through the roof at idle. Cruise and WOT were fine though. I was dealing with new injectors in a new engine with new fuel and intake systems, so I had a lot of stuff to adjust, but after ~500 miles of playing with the map, I decided the problem had to be mechanical.

Verified a lack of intake/boost and exhaust leaks, swapped coil packs, checked plugs, checked wires, etc. Finally decided to swap cylinder 2 and 4 injectors this morning and sure enough, the misfires moved to cylinder 2.

Guess I have to get in touch with Five-O.

I emailed them and explained the problem, Bruce replied pretty quickly and I'll be calling him on Monday to work out the details of getting a new injector.

went sent our 'yellow' set back and got a 'red' set.
same issue.
I'll be waiting for the motor to get finish, then go back at it.

After my experience with their injectors i won't use them again. They flow well but they never get the dead times correct even between the four injectors.

I just got off the phone with Bruce and so far customer service seems good. He's mailing out a new injector today and I should have it Thursday.

Received my new injector today and popped it in. No more idle misfires! Now I can continue tuning the car - got the low range MAF scaling down, but now I need to work on the higher g/s mapping... Still running sort of rich up there.

I'm running the 1200 sidefeeds and they are working great. I have no misfires.

Is anyone running e85 with their Five-O 1200 sidefeeds? I would like to compare some fueling tables like latencies/voltage, scalar, coolant temp compensation, etc.

My idle can get bouncy sometimes, but then steadies out. My coolant compensation is off too because its really bouncy during before about 160F -170F.

I'm putting some 1200cc side feeds in here shortly, anyone have any tips for tuning with pump gas? I'm having my tuner e-mail me a break in tune for my new motor on 1200cc side feeds with pump gas, and I'm trying to gather as much information as I can about tuning them since I've read some people having a little trouble with pump gas.

Injectors were bought from another member on here who had it tuned on E85 and they ran perfectly.

Man I almost pulled the trigger on a set of 1000 cc toppers. But reviews are so mixed. Hesitant.

Have a set of 2000cc and the damn things dont want to work right... anyone got a clue on how these things look scalar wise? I've tried quite a bit so far, and she still is not wanting to even start. Guess that's what I get for throwing huge injectors in too early to avoid buying a midsize set during parts collection...

just set the scalar at 2000 and then try different latencies.

Changing the scalar by 100 (IE down to 1900) only changes the fueling by 5%

so you'd have to make huge changes to the scalar to really effect the fueling.

I'd start at a latency of 0.5 @ 14v and go up by 0.2 each time if it doesnt work.

While I agree with this, I think he should be adjusting the 12v latencies while doing this instead of 14v. If he can't get the car to start, he won't be seeing 14v, so adjusting the 14v latency won't have much of an effect (not until the car is running at least).

I never said to only change it at 14v....that would be silly. i merely suggested a starting value at 14v based on the id's

Recently I threw in 1000cc injectors from Five-O Motorsports on my car. In a rush, I decided to take the liberty of trying to get everything dialed before tuning for power. The map I'm using is of my tuner's, and is only being used as a starting point. I'm having a bit of trouble dialing the injectors so I can start tuning in open loop.

Specifically, the car isn't idling right. I've been trying to read about how to get my injectors dialed in nicely, but a lot of the material is going over my head.

Attached is a log i took to scale my MAF. I was going to use Mickeyd2005's spreadsheet, but in step 6, it says to use column S to guide me in scaling the MAF. The problem is, I'm confused at what I'm supposed to do in terms of scaling my MAF and what numbers to change. Along the same route, I used the injector tab in Romraider, but there were a couple blips that weren't supposed to be there.

I've attached a screen shot of my injector tab log as well, but I'm fairly certain the scaling/latency show in the picture can't be right.

What do I change and by how much? How can I get my car running right? The car is after-firing a lot. I'm pretty happy that I can actually drive the car, but what can I do so my car doesn't stall when I come to a stop or shift gears?

My injector scalar is set at 1100cc

Latency:
Code:
6.5 9 11.5 14 16.5
3.61 2.04 1.33 0.92 0.76
Any help is appreciated. Tell me what's needed for additional help and I'll gladly follow up. Thanks in advance!

DATA LOG CAN BE FOUND ON MY RR POST:
http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewt...p=71983#p71983

Has anyone tried the Five 0 1400cc injectors? I'm working on a car and would like to know what you are running for latencies.

Try the map I sent alex and start adjusting the Speed density table.
