hahaha ... stage 2 is a tune and a downpipe? Nice. I knew they didnt matter much it just was irritating seeing .. Stage 2 ... Im going to be stage 2 by tomorrow. I just didnt know if there was something commonly accepted in the community as stages that people were usually following.

In every other words its stage 1 = tuned, stage 2 = very lightly modded, stage 3 is pretty much full bolt ons then.

Nice to see 1.2 is up and running, love the TQ/HP toggle option, now is easy to compare multiple runs at the crosspoint between TQ & HP.

Minor issue though, when hiding HP, the text legend hides as well, so if I want to save/print a TQ only plot I lose the text legend.

Just to report a back to back close correlation of VD vs an actual DynoJet @ TopSpeed in Atlanta.

Temperature: 74F (for both dyno and road runs).
Map: OTS Stage 2

HP/TQ
Virtual Dyno: 229/256
Dynojet: 228/260

^ Nice comparison.

Looks like the VD run could use some smoothing but great job.

If i use smoothing then they differ no longer similar graphs.

On another note, did you find the graph to be off from trying to determine you altitude, weight, temp or baro pressure?

I only ask because I'm sure many people use this and it sucks trying to guess altitude, baro, or crap in ones car if you know what I mean. Its a very good comparo

Well the STD correction that your chart has is the not the best correction to use. Its inflated and out dated.

If you used SAE (the currently used correction), the numbers would be a lil lower and will probably match the correctly smoothed VD numbers. The curve should still be about the same.

Either way, it shows that VD reads very close to a real dynojet, if not right on.

Do you happen to have your dynojet run files?

Don't guess. Use wunderground.com to get the exact info for your Baro and temp

I downloaded an altimeter app but my local airport where they get the baro readings is lower in sea level and 10 miles away.

Its a good assumption for the most part and should get you in the ball park. Just wondering if these factors were an issue when setting up the test?

Edit: thanks for the link, just took a look at it and it shows that there's a closer weather station.

I use an app (iPhone) that not only provides that data, it calculates Density Altitude. By adding the DA note to your logfile data you can more accurately compare numbers from different tunes on different days (more a self-tuner thing). While baro and temp are important, of course, DA is a finite number that, all things equal, will define performance potentials at any given time. I've watched my DA go to over 4000ft this summer and down to -600ft recently. Awareness of the current DA influences my logging decisions. The app is called "DragTimes" and has many more features than just the DA but DA was my main reason for getting the app.

As for filling out the boxes for each run... I have to change/fill each and every box every run as I have never been able to save a profile(?) that I can select instead. The data for my car is different than the data within VD, IOW. It's a pain but having the program with its limitations is better than not having it at all. I'm looking forward to future versions that does what this one promises... and a little better correlation between boost and torque would be good, too.

I was asking for the dyno run files, so I (we) can see what the numbers are on SAE vs a VD chart with just a lil more smoothing.

Also, the correction used in VD is SAE.

^I contacted Mark @TopSpeed for the actual DynoJet file.

However, the curve profile/shape of the Dynojet with the STD correction is the same as a previous Mustang Dyno running the same OTS Map and pretty much same mods as the latest Dynojet run, there is a 10% difference not fully attributed to difference in dynos and temps but also due to running a full Hayward & Scott 3" TBE and a CAI on DynoJet vs a free flow Panel filter and a "so called" 3" MadDad TBE which uses a 2.5" muffler on Mustang, so actually there is less than a 10% between the Mustang and DynoJet if the mods/temps have been the same.

Yes, my license plate at the Mustang dyno time was "Soccer Mom"

Mustang: 203/241

Dynojet: 228/260

VD 1.2 is broken... Seems to be bugged out with Cobb datalogs. I sent a bug report, hope you got it. The logs I was trying to view, had no problems loading with 1.1.8.

Not to happy about the auto-update either. Uninstalled and putting 1.1.8 back.

*EDIT* Temporary solution:

Cobb V2 datalogs (AP-SUB-002) show time as "ṠṡTime". VD doesnt understand it. If I change it simply to "Time" my Cobb logs show correctly.

its called a byte order mark ... those things are in files from time to time ... its encoding the text file in UTF-8 instead of ASCII. Thats not VDs fault but the settings on your computer and in the Cobb software. Those logs would not have worked with 1.1.8 either (Im pretty sure).

Actually, the files worked fine in 1.1.8... Sorry for trying to help fix a potential bug.

Why be sorry ... I have a copy of 1.1.8 and am willing to try them in 1.1.8 if you like. I just know that its probably not going to work. Are you sure you didnt just reexport them in a different encoding maybe using a new version of your logging software. Im just trying to address this asap for you ... no need to think Im working against you.

I haven't updated my accessport since it was installed. 1.1.8 worked fine for me after I put the AP on. I compared my newest map to my old OS overlays. Once 1.2 updated, I got labeling errors. I just figured that notifying you here would be fastest.
