Default Karlton Wagon Flares - Want some? Step inside...

Disclaimer:THIS IS ONLY A FEELER THREAD. We would follow the NASIOC guidelines for vendors and group-buys if this comes to fruition. This is simply to gauge if there is a market for this product. Moderators: please contact me if you have any issues with this thread and I will make the necessary changes.

UPDATE 12/12/2013 - Prototype flares for 04-05 chassis are complete! 06-07 guys NEED A DONOR CAR! 02-03 guys are almost there. Forester guys are picking up speed. Lets get moving.

Recently I've been talking with another member on here (pignosesSTI) that has been designing and manufacturing custom flare setups for the 05-07 STi. He has said that if there is enough interest and enough people willing to put their money down, he might be willing to design and make some sets for us wagon guys. From what I've seen so far, his work is top notch.

Here are the important details:
- 8 members minimum for each body style (preferably more) willing to put ~$350 down.
- Final cost would be ~$650 for fiberglass or ~$950 for carbon fiber/kevlar.
- 2 weeks production time after all down payments received.
- Designed to fit a ~265 series tire unless the group thinks otherwise; perhaps a 1" to 1.5" flare?

Since the wagons are different from 02-03 to 04-05 to 06-07, new front flairs would need to be designed for each. This would require at least 8 people per body style. I think the rears will be similar if not identical between the years.

I set the initial design goal of ~265 series tires though I know offset plays a part. Perhaps we should talk in terms of flare width from the stock fender?

PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS/FEEDBACK. I think it's high time us wagon guys had a professional, reasonably cost solution to allow us to run higher offset wheels and wide tires.

Here is an example of his work on the STi flares:

I will try to get some more detailed pictures soon.

Thumbs up

Wowwwww I would so rock those once I do the sedan rear end conversion but sadly, that's not going to be for a few years. T^T Though I guess that doesn't really help because at that point I could just get the ones he already makes...sorry I couldn't help the cause, but at least this is a free bump!

Don't want to intrude on your wagon thread, but is there even a place or thread to find these for sedan? All my searching is just pulling up a bunch of dead threads or pictures with no info...

Thanks

Bump this up. Any interest. The Karlton flares are super popular right now and look fantastic on the sedan body. We must have these for the wagons!

I would also be interested in seeing these on a wagon.
If they keep the STI's profile then I'm in for a set.

I was aiming to have them look just like the current offerings for the STi.

i have an 02 wagon with rusting on the rear fenders, with the new ones, would cutting be involved during install? I really want to keep her for another 2-3 years, but need to get of the rust, and what a better way to get some wider wheels. (running 215's now)

Sign Me up for the 06-07 wagon flares! I already have a set of karlton Pocket fender flares that I brought last summer and have been trying to find someone to help me retro-fit them on to my wagon, this was before all these wagon fender flare posts started, But if you guys could make ones, Pocket style please, that would fit directley I would throw down just to save me the time providing that its a perfect fit, put my username on that list, will invest.

P.S
I'm going to be running 275s on 17inch mach v awesomes
Thanks
