Default Need Transmission help Texas City

Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone local would be generous enough to help me out and diagnose my 06 wrx. Im not sure if the clutch went out or if it's the trans. I will be more than happy to pay you for your time. I live in Texas City and will be available all weekend.
Breakdown on what happened:
I was driving the car this afternoon and all was well. I pulled into the DMV and heard some grinding noise. I thought I may have been dragging some plastics or something. Got out didn't see anything. I started driving again and the grinding (metal on metal sound) got louder. The car didn't want to go into 3rd. I managed to make it home(10miles) and when I came to a complete stop the car hit very hard in the rear diff area.
Sorry so long. Derrick H. 409-795-9793

Well I decided to go ahead and start the removal. Either way Whether it's the Transmission or the clutch the trans has to come out.

If you have a decent upper body you can lower it onto your chest and slide it off. Assuming it's a WRX transmission. If it's an STi transmission, DO NOT TRY THIS. It weighs about 4 times as much as the WRX tranny. Be sure to cap off the tail with a glove or plug. Good luck with it. I have a trans jack but I'm in DFW.

That's pretty much what happened when my bugeye synchros came apart. Backing out of parking spot like usual and BAM .... started calling trans shops to see who has worked on a Subaru (happened in 2003 so not a great deal of Subaru experience).

good luck
