Default CO: 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 - $7500

103,000 miles. Platinum Gray exterior.

I bought the Jeep several years ago because I had always wanted the 5.9 Jeep, the Jeep was owned by an older woman who bought the car from a friend in 1999 because she wanted the top of the line Grand Cherokee. In addition she had the transfer case re-placed with a brand new unit by a Jeep dealership right before I purchased it.

Sense owning the Jeep I have been meticulous with all maintenance and have fixed all the common problems that ZJ jeeps can have.

- Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles with Castrol synthetic and a OEM Mopar filter
- Front and rear diff fluid replaced
- Transfer case fluid replaced
- Transmission drained and new filter
- New brakes and new fluid
- Cooling system flushed (new hoses & new thermostat)
- Brand new ignition (Kolak ignition - wires, plugs, distributor cap & high output coil)
- Brand new door speakers replaced the front with new Mopar Infinity speakers so the front tweeters would still work and new Infinity rear speakers.
- New headlight dimmer switch
- All new exterior light bulbs
- Fixed oil leak with brand new oil pan gasket and rear main seal
- New window struts
- New battery
- New O2 sensors
- New 6 piece head-light kit
- Oil pressure sending unit

To take advantage of the Jeeps engine I added some performance.

- Custom 3 catback exhaust
- High flow catalytic converter
- K&N Intake
- BBK 52mm throttle body
- Doug Thorley Headers (ceramic coated and all new gaskets)

Other modifications:

- 6000k HID kit (bi-xenon so it still has the bright function of the headlights)
- 3000k HID fog lights
- White LED interior lighting
- LED License plate bulbs
- Front window tint (matches rear windows)

The Jeep has none of the usual problems, No bearing hum from the differentials, no binding from the transfer case, both heated seats work, etc.

The interior is a 9.5 out of 10.

- Slight wear on the driver side floor mat
- Rear seats look brand new and have probably only been sat in a handful of times.
- Spare time has never been used and was taken out the first time by me when I detailed it.
- No stains or tears in any part of the interior.

Exterior is an 8 out of 10

- Rust free
- No major dents, just a few door dings
- Rock chips on front of mirrors and bumper
- Door dings from 12 years of park lots
- Light scratches on bumper and tailgate from previous owner but I have touched all them up with Jeep touch-up-paint.

With all the upgrades I have done to this Jeep you will only need to do basic maintenance for the next 20,000 miles. The jeep runs great with no issues.

It put down 205hp and just under 280trq on a dyno dynamics dyno. For comparison my stage 2 sti made 250hp and 275trq on the same dyno.

As much as it pains me to say this because it is a really nice Jeep...

You are a really big idiot for putting a drop-in HIDs in an SUV with reflector housings and blinding the hell out of everyone.

Thank you for the bump!

Most glare issues with HID's are because of people not aiming the housing correctly after the installation. I have never once had lights flashed at me because I spent the time to aim the headlights down.

Older Jeeps have incredibly inadequate factory headlights, upgrading to HID's was really needed to make this car safe to drive at night.
