Default What is going on in this forum

Why aren't the mods stepping in? This section of Nasioc has gone to **** real quick. The purpose of this tech forum isn't so vendors can swing their dicks around and show what their shop is all about. If you want to do that go post in the vendor announcements or better yet, pay for a storefront forum and show what you got. I can't stand coming in here everyday and seeing MAP posting up bs that has doing to do with this forum and now ETS is doing the same.. wtf mods.
"This Custom Fabrication, Welding & Tools forum is for discussion about tools or custom fabrication with metal, fiberglass, composites, plastics, etc... Retail products, and their dimensions, will not be discussed."

I see nothing being discussed... just vendors showing their wares.

I know Im not the only one to think this either so people speak up!!

I feel the same way. It is nice to see vendors posting pics of headers, manifolds, etc.. in the making process, but there is no discussion and they wont say anything since they make money by making the products.

I myself have been reading about welding and fiberglass, just don't feel i have enough knowledge yet to be asking question in this sub-forum.

They should be posting in the vendor section since all they are doing is advertising.

Im all for checking out fab pics since thats what my life consists of 7 days a week, cnc machining and tig welding. I hang out on the fab section of honda-tech/pirate4x4 all the freakin time because theres tons of guys building a lot of cool ****, and a lot of talented guys on that subforum/forum and also lurk on the vwvortex section but it doesnt have as much content as the honda-tech section. There is a huge wealth of knowledge on those forums.

This subforum is already kinda low on content, but if all your gonna do is display products than do it in the vendor section, because after all thats what you pay a vendor fee for..... to post in the vendor section or product announcment page to pimp your ****.

i am also not sure whats going on as there are a lot of posts that dont belong here. however, vendors pimping there stuff that they made i feel is fine, but they need to just have one thread and keep posting pics in it. no need for a bunch from the same company.
i also visit the other fab places, pirate, DR, cnc, and bunches of others i just love see great fab work. ether done by a vendor or a person.

I like seeing handmade products and the manufacturing process, whether it's posted by a vendor or not. But I really didn't come in here to see posts about changing light bulbs and installing springs. I agree that this forum is being (ab)used by some as a personal blog/advertising tool rather than a place where people can share knowledge about fabrication.

I am slightly annoyed with the non fab related pictures... Once you see a car on the dyno you've seen em all. Try to stay on topic.

I want to see more than one single picture a day... Show us a start to finish process- not just a glimpse of some random project. And for the love of this sub-forum stick to the custom fabrication!

i was gonna stay out of this even though i agree... things are alittle off in this area of the forum.. hate to do it.. but like the most recent post by map

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...3&postcount=95

... im sorry that picture isnt even fab work! on top of that.. he and i qoute says

"We are your local Diablosport CMR Dealer and Tuner; specializing in GM, Ford and Mopar. Give us a call or stop in! We look forward to getting you taken care of!"

well i dont know much about the predator.. but it definatly sounds to me that its a GM,ford, and mopar tuner... THIS IS A SUBARU FORUM! on top of that.. its the custom fab section of the forum... NOT a place to sell yourself... that should be kept in the map vendor thread...

I agree the "Latest Fab Work @ MAPerformance" was great, a custom fabricator showing of some great work. No selling involved.

Then "MAPerformance Behind The Scenes" WTF? This entire thread is a giant advertisement.
