Default NH: 2004 WRX Wagon, all stock

2004 WRX Wagon, 2.0T / 5 speed, Silver, 187,xxx miles

One mature owner, clean, non-smoking, daily highway driver. Base model, black cloth seats in great shape.

Two sets of wheels:

Stock 16" alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, approx. 5k miles.

Steelies with Dunlop Winter SPort 3Ds, about 1/3 tread remaining.

Cross bars (not on car)
Subaru hitch installed at dealer w/ Subaru ball mount, 2" ball, lights.

Never any significant issues with this car. Never abused.

All original driveline, exhaust, intake, totally unmolested.

Exterior: no wheel rash, no door dings, a few scratches, typical front end rock chipping for age and locale. Two rock dents (minor) on leading edge of hood. All looks good from ten feet, no show car here. Call it a 7.5 - 8 overall.

Interior: minor wear on driver's seat (8/10) & floor mat, everything else a 9 or better. Cold AC.

T-belt serviced by dealer at 114K. Plugs replaced and compression checked at 180K, 160/155/156/155 psi. Oil consumption around 1 qt / 4000 in normal driving.

Has conservative stage one open source tune at the moment, can be returned to factory stock if desired. Waste gate adjustment has never been touched -- factory heat shield still in place with rusty factory bolts. This car can/will run for a long time to come despite scary high miles. Never sees more than 14psi.

Needs new rear differential bushings (noise). I have the TIC klunk killer kit that will fix this, have not had a chance to install.

Recent rear brakes/rotors, extra front rotors/pads included with car (fronts are currently serviceable, about 1/3 remaining).

Stock 6 cd changer.

Stock Momo wheel / shift knob (great stuff -- wish my '11 had these).

Title in hand.

KBB about $6500. Offers need to be close, else it's my Winter car.
Come check it out -- this thing drives *great* despite miles.

Cheap, reliable, fast car.

Can see in Epsom NH (Rte 28) during business hours

tel 603-736-9321, ask for Evan

Yep, original motor. But check the compression #s.

<sigh>. This car has so far attracted no serious interest. I can only conclude that no one believes this thing *isn't* a worn out piece of junk. Neighbor kid with little money may get a screaming deal, after all.

Depends on how generous I'm feeling. At some point I say "screw it, I'll park my shiny new '11 in the garage next Winter and let the 04 take the abuse".

I see you are a long way from NH -- presuming you aren't actually interested in buying the car. If you are, LMK.

I been looking for a 04 wrx wagon for awhile now and everyone I find either sells really quick or is asking double of what your asking, yours just has higher mileage thats all

PM replied.

This is the only place the car is advertised. I would really rather see the car go to an enthusiast than some Craigs List shopper who will fill it with 87 octane and blow it up, get pissed off at me.

Price reduced to $6000, cash. Come 'n get it.

Okay, so I never got serious about selling this car.

I have too many vehicles in my driveway. $5K.

I live in New Boston, drive through Weare twice a day.

No one has even taken this thing for a ride or looked under the hood yet. Everyone is put off by the miles.

Meanwhile, I bought an 11, the 04 isn't getting enough use to justify insurance, etc. It's a great low cost daily as is, or a really cheap platform to go nuts with mods.

lol go to a used car lot and try to see if you can buy any decent awd car for less than this guy is asking.

This thing is a wrx, if it's in good condition it's a great deal for a fun winter car.

GLWS. I'd list it elsewhere, especially with winter coming.

Thanks. Yeah... I reaaaaaally don't want to go to Craig's List, but in another couple weeks I may.

Updates on the car: mileage now getting close to 189k.

TIC "Klunk Killer Kit" installed (diffy bushings, etc.). That was noticeable (tightens things up, you notice especially on 1-2 shift), but it didn't do a lot for noise. I drained the diffy, no metal to speak of, it looks fine. Reading the fine print from TIC it says that increased NVH is expected. So it is a little noisier in back than stock. Worst likely case, it may be in for a wheel bearing at some point.

I hope to get new pads/rotors on the front in next day or two.

There's a CV joint boot leaking a little grease. The boot isn't badly torn or anything(yet). That'll need attention before too awfully long.

I did re-adjust the wastegate so I could hit stage 1 targets. Engine runs stronger than ever and very smooth (tune is posted at romraider). It has none of the midrange lean hiccups than typify stock 04 tunes.

The battery is original . That's got to be some kind of record. That should be changed before it gets really cold this year.

Main thing this car needs is an enthusiastic driver in the seat.
