Default Uppipe for 2005 wrx

looking for an uppipe for my 05 wrx before I go buy a new one. Don't know much about them or if I should get one with a flex section or not. Let me know what you got.
Also if you have a suggestion from experience what I should get let me know also... was kinda looking at an invidia...maybe?
thanks for any help

I've got a new Grimmspeed up-pipe with flex. $65.00 picked up in Laurel, MD.

is there a reason why I would get an uppipe with a flex section opposed to one without or one with an EGT bung? invidia with egt /no flex or grimspeed w/ flex?

You WILL want the flex section, metals expand as they heat up. Up pipes get VERY hot. Imagine!

Also, it makes installation MUCH easier and promotes good sealing.

EGT bung is 100% not necessary. Either plug it or get an upipe without it. The resistor trick/ROMraider hacks will be a much better idea anyway

There is a flex section underneath the heat shields.

ok after more research it seems a solid pipe might not fit as well and leak, a flex could fall apart or leak. Cheapest option- Sti cat-less. Anyone got a used in good condition Sti uppipe? Can i used 04-07 / 06/07 wrx? thanks

The problem with the OEM up-pipes is the heat shields come loose and rattle. My 04 WRX one started rattling around 60,000 miles. You can have issues with any up-pipe, but I don't think it's that bad. Just make sure you get new gaskets.

Hey Rob, how's the splitter? I'll post pics later of my OEM 05 STi up pipe later. You don't want those pieces of SHI*! If you do decide to go with STi catless here's a link to one IAG has used for 50 bones.
