Default Bugeye with Prodrive Replica & HomeDepot DIY Lip + DIY Yellow Fogs.

After successfully painting my front fender and bumper with spray paint: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2316083 (Someday I will combine my threads hopefully) I decided to tackle more home projects.

So for today I decided to first add a HomeDepot garage door seal lip to my existing Prodrive Replica lip. I did this because of this thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1898814
However I can't justify spending another hundred bucks on a v-limited when I am going to chop up the top so it will fit flush with the flat surfaced bottom of the Prodrive lip. Since the bottom of the garage door is perfectly flat, I decided to use the Garage Door Seal!

Costed 10 bucks:

Basically I lined the end of one side first and went around the front bumper using sheet metal screws to secure the garage door seal lip to the prodrive lip(Just to clear up confusions, Prodrive lip is attached to the bumper with 3M double sided Tape, Then the garage door seal is attached to the Prodrive lip with sheet metal screws). When I got to the other end, I trimmed the excess off with a pair of scissors. And then I trimmed the end of the garage door seal lip round.

The second mod I did was painting the fog lights yellow. Using:

This is the same paint 08+ wrx and sti hatch people uses to mod their tails. But you just buy the yellow. You can buy this paint at Michael's. They charge 12 bucks, But you can grab a 40% off coupon here: http://weeklyad.michaels.com/stores/5302/coupons to make the paint about 7 bucks. When you go into Michael's, don't go to the spray paint section, you will not find it there! Ask for their porcelain paint section. You are looking for a spray can that is half the size of regular spray paint cans.

Finished pictures(Taken with my phone, I will grab better one's later):

Is your other lip held on with zip ties? If so, i would have put more effort in getting those fitting properly before stacking on another lip.

No it's not, It's put on there with 3m double sided tape like any other prodrive lip. The ziptie is there in case the tape fails, I won't lose my investment.

I had this lip on my last car and used 3m auto tape to attach it and it was still held on perfectly when I sold the car

Aesthetics. It's just a lip.

But that came out pretty nice. I'll probably take this route over the v-limited lip.

No, its held on with 20 sheet metal screws. 3M double sided tape will not stick to the garage door lip. the garage door seal is pretty much really thick foam. you will need screws.

Mine was held on with 3M double sided and a bead of black door molding sealant...it didn't want to die when I pulled it off last summer

Also...I noticed you were in Lexington. Going to Clay City on April 1st?

The first is the KYHorsepower.com shootout. It's a test and tune as well...but more expensive to run, and I've heard of people only getting 3 passes all day because the lanes are so packed for the competive classes

But all the big guns come out of winter hibernation. Some really quick cars for sure. It's a good time to watch

There should be lots of info on their website.

It's definitely worth it for 10 bucks. I'll be there in a pretty stock looking, tho extremely loud, wingless blue bugeye. Give a shout if you see it.

And back on topic...the lips and fogs look good!
