OT:you gotta be kidding - nope its fire near Lyons

So I was heading home on Foothills and see this cloud. Then I realize it is a smoke plume.

There is a fire burning near 36 a bit west of lyons. Will see if I can snag a pic or two.

Has anyone heard about the cause? I fear it is people being stupid. Are (m)any houses in danger?

My parents house is in danger.

And they are out of town. I am staying up here to take care of my little brother, and the smoke cloud keeps getting closer....

Well, already got the car packed with everything that we cant live without (pictures, insurance info, ...)

I guess its time to just wait and see what happens. I was surfing the web for info, and channel 9's web site said that there is 500 something homes within 4 miles of where it started. Their web page also said that the sheriffs office will also be using reverse 911 dialing to evacuate people. I guess its time to wait for the phone to ring......

Any other i-clubers in Lyons?

Oh crap. Sorry to hear it man. It was pretty impressive watching the air drops and impressive ina bad way watching the fire.

Hope it does not get to your house.

Yea, i really hope that it doesn't spread to far. It is really dry up here, well i guess the whole state is really dry, but that is why I am really worried.
I called one of the numbers that channel four provided for fire information, and the recording said that there was 4 fire engines, and 3 planes that were fighting the fire. It doesn't sound like that much of a fire fighting force to me, especially due to the tuff surroundings.
In the area where the fire is, it is very inaccessable. I used to go dirt bike riding up there all of the time. I dont know if you could get a fire engine up there? Well, good luck to the fire fighters! I hope that they can get this under control in a hurry!

Fox news said that the fire is moving north-west, and my parents house is south east. So, hopefully it wont get us!

Yeah, I am in boulder for business and saw all the smoke. I hope they get the fire out.
