I thought they didn't sell the 4EAT WRX outside the US, so I imagine this means they actually chose the 4EAT. I'd like to hear about their gearing and any other mods to the tranny.

It more then likely wasn't a wrx. Much cheaper to build up a drag suby by just buying an L and gutting everything.

Yes.. it is a WRX.. its a 2.4L stroker I believe.

I don't know about the automatic transmission thing though.

When did it run 10.019?

I have some vids of that car running low 10's.. I'll try to find them.

This is the car that did a 10.02..

And here is an inside-car video of it running the 10.02:

http://nwmedia.vservers.com/rigoli1002.mpeg

I believe DBRONX was built at the same tuning shop (TRP).

thats not insane for an automatic. its normal for an automatic to be the fastest. MANY drag racers uses autos.

and no, i think everyone with a 4EAT (not just wrx people) are smiling. and he never said it was a new age or the old GC8 body.

Yeah, some more info would be nice.

BTW, attn: Rifts - in the video did you "feel" the way that thing shifted? Is that what the valve-body job is like? If so, me wants.

Nice video!! Is that sound before he launches the rev-limiter or the stall speed of the TQ Converter?

Default wrx

GC8 body, He set the record at the Eastern creek meet. Took a couple of month's to get the stall right. That's 2 auto's in the low 10's now, and a couple of other's are changing as we speak as it's a lot easier on the driveshaft's. MPH as 132mph instead of the usual 145+mph indicating he backed out and apparentlly the car wasn't launched hard either!!, with slow 60ft's. BTW- the auto box was modified in the US somewhere and only the stall changed here.

Impressive -- I hope to see the diffs hold up... my center diff blew up staging on the stock TC back in April. Have these guys had to do any replacements, or are the gears hardened? Or are they just lucky and have low mileage?

Upon trying to find the details on this car, I uncovered something unfortunate -- the Rigoli page lists the DBRONX WRX as having a Chalak dogbox, not a 4EAT.

Trust me, I'd much rather hear that it's a 4EAT, but it doesn't appear to be. Something would have to have changed since the last update on this page for that to be true... http://www.rigoli.com.au/dbronx.html
