Smile 2002 Subaru WRX yellow sedan - One owner

Barring any issues, the car is SOLD and will be picked up Saturday.

$6300
2002 Subaru WRX yellow sedan - One owner
Blaze Yellow
5 speed
106k miles
All the standard items: (power everything, A/C)
Leather seats
Viper alarm
Very light tint
MA inspection sticker good through March 2012
Southeastern MA

UPDATED some info in blue. Lots of info in here, please read and let me know if you have any questions. Lowered the price $200 due to exhaust leak above the up pipe. If I have time I will resolve this.

This is my Blaze Yellow 2002 5 speed sedan, I've owned it since new. The car has been well maintained, thoroughly enjoyed but I definitely have not abused it. I average 25+ mpg, the car has been very reliable and fun, and garaged virtually every day since new. I am purchasing a 2011 WRX so this one is ready to move on. Air conditioning is cold, all electrical items work, the car starts and runs smoothly and tracks straight. Painted stock wheels, lots of tread on mostly new RE92's.

Maintenance has been done to schedule, always used synthetic oil. I have a decent pile of records and a few spare parts to include. Two years ago (at 85k miles) one of the spark plugs pulled out of the head (passenger side). Rethreading was not a practical option so I sent the car to ECS to have a lot
of work done. They replaced the head, decked and pressure tested both heads. Both head gaskets were replaced along with the timing belt and everything near it (water pump, idlers, tensioner, accessory belts) and the clutch. Many cars around 100k miles will not have had their timing belt replaced yet, this is a significant cost.

The car never had any serious mods done, the car has a dyno tuned Cobb Accessport Stage 2 tune. This was done about five years ago and has not be messed with since. Prior to this I replaced the up pipe (Grimmspeed) and exhaust (TurboXS with cat) and sent the turbo to Deadbolt for port and polish. My goal was to minimize lag and these changes have made the car much more drivable. I still have the stock exhaust, I can easily swap out the exhaust and remove the AP if preferred.

Mods
+ Two tone leather interior from Leatherseats.com
+ Deadbolt ported turbo
+ Grimmspeed up pipe
+ TurboXS turbo back exhaust with cat
+ Cobb Accessport with dyno tune
+ Koni shock inserts with STI springs and top hats
+ Kartboy short shifter and bushings
+ Premier (Pioneer) stereo (plays MP3's) and upgraded front speakers. Some sound deadening in the trunk and doors.
+ STI engine and transmission mounts
+ Front and rear Kartboy endlinks
Whiteline adjustible rear swaybar. Rusty but functional! This and the KB links really help the car rotate, much more fun to drive. I have the stock rear bar and rear endlinks, I believe one of the front broke (thus the KB replacements).
+ Samco Y hose under the intercooler. I bought this mostly because getting the IC on/off with the stock hose was so frustrating.

+ Hella 550 driving lights
+ Dynamat in trunk, thicker trunk carpet

Issues
- Rust bubble on trunk lid - there is a small (about 2") rust bubble on the trunk lid edge. (picture in gallery)
- Deceleration noise due to Exedy clutch - unfortunately a common problem with aftermarket clutches on these cars. The noise is related to the clutch, it is not indicative of a problem rather just an annoyance. A bit louder now that I took the snow tires off. Lots more info here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1097682 It hasn't bothered me much since it started two years ago, but a new clutch should resolve it if it bothers you.
- Newly found exhaust leak, I hadn't noticed it over the exhaust. I stopped by Wicked Innovations and they confirmed it is leaking out of the top up pipe gasket. It is even harder to hear once the car has warmed up. I have a complete set of up pipe related gaskets for this repair.
WI estimated $170 in labor for the repair, not a hard job to do at home I'm just short on time at the moment. I'll be posting a few videos of the car soon.
- Fog lights do not work - I just noticed this, will look into it.

The car has been damaged twice in the right rear: first time a guy clipped the corner trying to go around us while we were waiting to turn left, damage was to the tail light, quarter and bumper cover. It was such a narrow hit that the trunk lid didn't get hit. No suspension damage, I drove the car home. The second incident was a shallow dent from a car brushing against the quarter.

Overall the car is in great shape for a 9+ year old WRX. The paint is a bit faded in places but there are almost no dings or scratches on the car. I had a clear bra on the car for many years; the hood piece is still on the car so there are very few chips in the hood. The bumper is in worse shape, no parking lot scuffs but lots of rock chips and some scrapes along the lower edge. The car is not perfect, it has been a daily driver and well used. It has also been well maintained and I see no reason to think it will not continue to be a great car. Car is located in Middleboro MA, meeting up in the area shouldn't be too hard, I also occasionally travel through RI and CT.

Some quick pictures, more (and higher res) available. Tons of pictures here: https://picasaweb.google.com/paulnma...eat=directlink
VIN: JF1GD296X2G501127 I have not seen the Carfax report, I assume it is clean. If anyone runs one and wants to send it over that would be great.

What are you replacing it with Paul? Grin.

P/s: I'm back in MA by the way and am eyeing an 09 Exige in the near/mid future. Should catch up with you and talk shop about your Lotus.

2011 WRX, such a practical car. Anytime you want to drive the Elise, let me know. An 09 Exige will be a proper monster compared to mine.
