Default Stolen parts 2007 Subaru STI

Hey everybody, I was hoping you could help me out. You all seem to know alot more then I do. My buddy has this 2007 STI and it got robbed pretty good. He is wanting to sell it for a pretty good deal to me. I was hoping you could give me a good estimate on how much it would cost. The body is in perfect condition (they only stole the tires and rims) I don't want to get into this thing to far without knowing how much it is going to cost. I don't know that much more about it.

Nope not a joke. Ok ok so lets say this isn't a real STI motor what would it cost to replace the whole thing. Not really a friend more of a friend of a friends uncles grandma's cousin so to speak. So what type of motor is it then? Thank you all for the quick responses

Without seeing the block casting its either a 1.8 circa 93 to 96 ot a 01 2.5. But it looks pre 95 to me. It will cost you a wrecked sti so 7k and the work to put it together that's not knowing what else is missing. Btw who takes the time to strip a car and put another motor in it.

It's not even a DOHC motor.

Which means, with the exception of VERY few 90's era SOHC turbo legacys...... it's not even a turbo motor, and never has been.

Some "friend" ya got there.

Thread of the year so far.

Also, please look up robbery in the dictionary. Then you can compare it with burglary. They are not the same thing. A car is an inanimate object and cannot "get robbed".

Ill explain it for you.

Get behind in payments. Realize your car is going to get repo'd. Remove motor and install a garbage NA motor. Strip all other parts and replace them with lower quality parts (brembo's for wrx brakes, suspension, transmission etc).

Then you call insurance and say its been robbed of some parts. They total it out and you made a profit on the other parts.

Seriously everybody thank you it all makes sense and I totally agree that it is insurance fraud or whatever and everything worth anything was taken out and replaced with ****. I am very grateful that I posted this up and got all this very useful info.
