hey guys, love the build. i want an ewg on my 11 but i have no idea where it connects to, does it connect to the up pipe? is running an ewg on a stock turbo worth the extra $$? why did you decide to go ewg besides the uber cool noise

When I helped my friend with his FMIC on his 04' wrx I used my dremel to cut the front bumper cover for fitment. That was a while ago...
You think sanding the edge, possibly a belt sander, would help to make an almost perfect straight edge after cutting with the dremel?
I just know how hard it is to make straight lines with those things and was thinking of a way to doctor it up a bit. I'm sure I might have to do something like this in the future on my own.
AWESOME build guys!!!

For an ewg you need a new UP. It will benefit any turbo, stock or not. It's a decent hp gain, and will work with any future turbo plans we have. The noise, as cool as it is, does get old after a while.

We still have not gotten them onto a Dyno. A few months ago we ditched the AP's for an OS road tune from Arch4Life, and what a world of difference it made in the butt dyno.

This. A friend of mine had a dumped wastegate on his turbo '98 Cobra and I hated the sound.

Check out this vid, you can hear his WG over my super loud exhaust.

No real changes, just enjoying the cars, never put them on a dyno, but my tuner believes I am running somewhere in the 320-330ish range. Blue car actually went back to stock, and was traded in.

If you go FMIC, get a throttle body coupler

What'd you trade it in for?

this thread was a huge help for me and my similar build. Catted invidia downpipe makes for a ****ed up dump tube pointed at the transmission, so some cutting/welding is needed.

using a 3 port EBCS with this setup so it flutters but made some good power over stage 2 previous protune with stock topmount.

picked up 20whp and 20wtq between 4kprm-redline(stock injectors). Also lost tiny bit of spool but you can hardly tell on the street.

Just wondering..... Did you guys have to remove the Hood scoop diffuser/splitter to allow clearance for the new pipes? And has there been an issue with water and junk coming in through the scoop and splashing all over the engine?
