Default Viper 5904 on a 2015 STI w/keyless entry

I just purchased a 2015 STI Limited about a week ago and it has keyless entry and push button start. I currently have a Viper 5904 Alarm and Remote start system I purchased for my 06' STI, but never installed.

My question to you who know much more about electrical than I do is if I were to install this Viper alarm and remote start system, will my keyless entry and push button start still work? Or will the Viper system override the factory keyless entry and remote start?

Thanks in advance!

Damn, well I hope I get a response because I've already asked a few of my car buddies, but they weren't sure.

Call an installer! I don't know about that alarm but the installer I spoke to said that he could install a Remote Start on my 15 6MT WRX with the Push button. So If I where you I would just call an installer or Call Viper to see if that model supports your STI... Probably not the most helpful Reply to your post but at least I tried to help

Let me know what you end up doing and Congrats on your STI!!!!!!

Viper warranty is a no-go obviously.

Viper has the tech where you can add on a perimeter sensor that will unlock the door ...so it can be done . I was just hoping to piggy back the oem perimeter sensor however i don't know how realistic that is. The oem sensor reads the key, the viper would read the additional card you have to carry...it just seems like a bulky solution and might be easier to lose the door handle swipe .

I don't know if you could install it quite yet because I don't think there is a bypass solution available as of right now. With that bypass module there is a possibility that you might be able to control the 5904 using your factory key fob.

Yeah, unfortunately there is no data bypass solution on the market right now to override the factory immobilizer. Additionally there isn't even a convenience solution to allow the factory remote to control the aftermarket alarm or vice-versa.

That being said, the system can still be installed, but it may not function how you would like. The alarm would work independently of your factory keyless/security. If you arm with the aftermarket you would have to disarm with the aftermarket. Same way with the factory keyless.

The only bypass solution for the remote start to function would be a universal proximity key bypass. This requires you to lose one of your keys to be permanently installed into the bypass solution. You can get a third key made but you will probably be looking at $300+ just for that.

The push-start tech has been out on other Subaru models for quite a while, so it's only a matter of time for one of the manufacturers to crack the cars data. ADS is usually the first to market with product and they are still not releasing any possible ETA on a solution.

Thank you all for the responses. Guess I'll probably hold off on installing the alarm and remote start for a bit. Hopefully before winter they have a bypass available. I really don't want to give up 1 of my keys because those are $300-350. Not worth it
