2011 OBP WRX

Default CT: 2002 WRB Hybrid

Up for sale is my 2002 WRX Hybrid. I bought this car in July of 2009 and when I purchased it, it had spun a rod bearing. Instead of putting in another 2.0 shortblock I opted to go with a hybrid setup. I built the motor myself and all parts were brand new unless otherwise noted below (I have all the receipts to prove it). The motor now has 33K on it and other than a clogged fuel pressure regulator which I swapped out in December of 2009, the car has had zero issues. All I have had to do is change the oil, clean the air filter and that's it. Just get in and drive! I will truly miss this car, but now that my STi is on the road, I can't afford to keep both despite how much I would like to.

As for the mileage - the chassis has 184xxx on it. However, so much has been replaced, that that number is a little misleading.

The tranny was swapped purely to get rid of the higher mileage one. I swapped the tranny last January because my friend with an 04 wrx had a rod let go after he installed an fp hta 68 on it and opted to do a full 04 sti swap. I took the opportunity to swap the the tranny as I found someone almost simultaneously to buy mine. It literally cost me 4 hours of my own time and 4 quarts of gear oil to do the swap (obviously a no-brainer). That said the tranny now has close to 90k on it. There are no grinds, noises or anything else that suggests its not healthy. And while everyone will say they have never launched their car, I swear on my life that it has never once been launched. The car has never been to a drag strip, road course, autocross event, etc.

For the suspension, originally I put 04 sti takeoffs on the car, but the clunking was unbearable so I took them off and put on stock wrx struts that my friend had sitting in his basement from his bugeye. So in total the suspension has approx 50k miles on it.

The exterior is the cleanest of all the subies I have owned - now 4 in total. I am the 3rd owner, it has never been in an accident, there are two SMALL dents on the rear passenger door, and that's it. There are no scratches, dings, nicks etc anywhere else on the car. When I bought the car from the second owner, he had his brother who owned a body shop respray the front bumper, hood, side skirts and rear bumper so its not rock chipped to hell. I get compliments all the time for how clean it is and no one has ever asked if its been resprayed, the match is perfect! The only other flaw is a small rust bubble on the passenger fender. It has been there since I bought the car, never gotten worse and it is easily fixed by replacing a fender hence it didn't prevent me from buying the car. That said, I am anal about my cars and never once has this flaw bothered me enough to even spend $150 to replace it.

The interior is in equally awesome shape. The seats are perfect, there are no signs of wear anywhere. The the dash, carpet, steering wheel, shift boot etc are all mint. The only flaw is the driver side rear door card has 3 scuffs in it. Hopefully you can sense my attention to detail.

I can't think of anything else in which mileage and/or age would be a concern, but if you can, don't hesitate to ask. If you want to setup a time to meet up/see the car etc, just let me know. I have nothing to hide about this car and will answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for bump and offer, but they are staying with the car....they took a long time to find used and I bought them the second they were posted. Good luck with your search!

You can buy those fog covers new at the dealer. You'd just have to get them painted WRB, since the 2.5RS never came that color.

Never mind, they're blocked at work but I pulled them up on my phone.
