Default Exhaust systems

I am looking for an aftermarket cat-back exhaust that does not look like a polished coffee can. Any suggestions?

Thumbs up

I just ordered the Borla system. It's not here yet but from the pics I've seen on it ..looks good. I think the outlet is a 3" tip so it dosn't look like grapfruit launcher. It runs about 400 bucks... Here is the link:

Scroll down alittle and there's a pic of it on a car. Good Luck...

well, im not going the cat back route just because im waiting for stage 1 to come out. i just ordered a borla muffler and my own tips from jegs. its only like $140, and i still get the sound of the borla system, with a really nice set of tips, for like $260 less and i wont have to get rid of it when i upgrade to shivs equipment.

I have the Stromung. It's one of the few dual-tip aftermarket exhaust out there. Looks good when new, but after a year or so, the stainless steel isn't so "stainless" anymore.

i would like to get an exhaust my big fear though is the sound. i am a newb when it comes to subarus and cars i only have general knowledge. i don't want anything that is going to sound like a "fart muffler." i know a few people with a "performance muffler" and it sounds like crap and has a high pitched rattling sound. i also don't want something that is going to be louder on the highway than my stereo.

Type in Prodrive in a search. You'll find which muffler will meet your need. There is several companies out there. I went with Prodrive based on sound clips and it's oval tip.

due to the boxer design of the engine any exhaust you put on will not sound like a honda. I am running a Tanabe hyper medallion. yes it looks like a chrome coffe can. but that sound mmmmmmmmmmmm second only to a full scoobysport.

I would like to say that this is the exhaust that should have come stock on the car...

When I was looking for exhaust I didn't hesitate to spend the $525 on the muffler alone (price has dropped I belive) when i found it.
